Heejin Ahn 1e4d35044f [WebAssembly] Add functions for EHScopes
Summary:
There are functions using the term 'funclet' to refer to both
1. an EH scopes, the structure of BBs that starts with
catchpad/cleanuppad and ends with catchret/cleanupret, and
2. a small function that gets outlined in AsmPrinter, which is the
original meaning of 'funclet'.

So far the two have been the same thing; EH scopes are always outlined
in AsmPrinter as funclets at the end of the compilation pipeline. But
now wasm also uses scope-based EH but does not outline those, so we now
need to correctly distinguish those two use cases in functions.

This patch splits `MachineBasicBlock::isFuncletEntry` into
`isFuncletEntry` and `isEHScopeEntry`, and
`MachineFunction::hasFunclets` into `hasFunclets` and `hasEHScopes`, in
order to distinguish the two different use cases. And this also changes
some uses of the term 'funclet' to 'scope' in `getFuncletMembership` and
change the function name to `getEHScopeMembership` because this function
is not about outlined funclets but about EH scope memberships.

This change is in the same vein as D45559.

Nicola Zaghen d34e60ca85 Rename DEBUG macro to LLVM_DEBUG.
The DEBUG() macro is very generic so it might clash with other projects.
The renaming was done as follows:
- git grep -l 'DEBUG' | xargs sed -i 's/\bDEBUG\s\?(/LLVM_DEBUG(/g'
- git diff -U0 master | ../clang/tools/clang-format/clang-format-diff.py -i -p1 -style LLVM
- Manual change to APInt
- Manually chage DOCS as regex doesn't match it.

In the transition period the DEBUG() macro is still present and aliased
to the LLVM_DEBUG() one.

David Stuttard 31f482c26b [AMDGPU] Fix issues for backend divergence tracking
Summary:
A change to use divergence analysis in the AMDGPU backend was getting formal
arguments incorrect (not tagged as divergent) unless they were VGPR0, VGPR1 or
VGPR2

For graphics shaders it is possible to have more than these passed in as VGPR

Modified the checking code to check for any VGPR registers passed in as formal
arguments.

Also, some intrinsics that are sources of divergence may have been lowered
during instruction selection and are missed on subsequent calls to
isSDNodeSourceOfDivergence - added the relevant AMDGPUISD checks as well.

Finally, the FunctionLoweringInfo tracks virtual registers that are live across
basic block boundaries. This is used to check for divergence of CopyFromRegister
registers using the DivergenceAnalysis analysis. For multiple blocks the lazily
evaluated inverted map VirtReg2Value was not cleared when the ValueMap map was.

Reid Kleckner 3a7a2e4a0a [FastISel] Sink local value materializations to first use
Summary:
Local values are constants, global addresses, and stack addresses that
can't be folded into the instruction that uses them. For example, when
storing the address of a global variable into memory, we need to
materialize that address into a register.

FastISel doesn't want to materialize any given local value more than
once, so it generates all local value materialization code at
EmitStartPt, which always dominates the current insertion point. This
allows it to maintain a map of local value registers, and it knows that
the local value area will always dominate the current insertion point.

The downside is that local value instructions are always emitted without
a source location. This is done to prevent jumpy line tables, but it
means that the local value area will be considered part of the previous
statement. Consider this C code:

Today we end up with assembly and line tables like this:

The LEA instructions in the local value area have no source location and
are treated as being on line 1. Stepping through the code in a debugger
and correlating it with the assembly won't make much sense, because
these materializations are only required for line 4.

This is actually problematic for the VS debugger "set next statement"
feature, which effectively assumes that there are no registers live
across statement boundaries. By sinking the local value code into the
statement and fixing up the source location, we can make that feature
work. This was filed as https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35975 and
https://crbug.com/793819.

This change is obviously not enough to make this feature work reliably
in all cases, but I felt that it was worth doing anyway because it
usually generates smaller, more comprehensible -O0 code. I measured a
0.12% regression in code generation time with LLC on the sqlite3
amalgamation, so I think this is worth doing.

There are some special cases worth calling out in the commit message:
1. local values materialized for phis
2. local values used by no-op casts
3. dead local value code

Local values can be materialized for phis, and this does not show up as
a vreg use in MachineRegisterInfo. In this case, if there are no other
uses, this patch sinks the value to the first terminator, EH label, or
the end of the BB if nothing else exists.

Local values may also be used by no-op casts, which adds the register to
the RegFixups table. Without reversing the RegFixups map direction, we
don't have enough information to sink these instructions.

Lastly, if the local value register has no other uses, we can delete it.
This comes up when fastisel tries two instruction selection approaches
and the first materializes the value but fails and the second succeeds
without using the local value.

This header already includes a CodeGen header and is implemented in
lib/CodeGen, so move the header there to match.

This fixes a link error with modular codegeneration builds - where a
header and its implementation are circularly dependent and so need to be
in the same library, not split between two like this.

Arnold Schwaighofer ae9312c487 ISel: Fix FastISel of swifterror values
The code assumed that we process instructions in basic block order.  FastISel
processes instructions in reverse basic block order. We need to pre-assign
virtual registers before selecting otherwise we get def-use relationships wrong.

This only affects code with swifterror registers.

Even though these GEPs can be simplified to a constant offset from EBP
or RSP, we don't do that at -O0, and each GEP is computed into a
register. Registers used to compute argument addresses are typically
spilled and clobbered very quickly after the initial computation, so
live debug variable tracking loses information very quickly if we use
DBG_VALUE instructions.

This change moves processing of dbg.declare between argument lowering
and basic block isel, so that we can ask if an argument has a frame
index or not. If the argument lives in a register as is the case for
byval arguments on some targets, then we don't put it in the side table
and during ISel we emit DBG_VALUE instructions.

Recommitting r288293 with some extra fixes for GlobalISel code.

Most of the exception handling members in MachineModuleInfo is actually
per function data (talks about the "current function") so it is better
to keep it at the function instead of the module.

This is a necessary step to have machine module passes work properly.

Also:
- Rename TidyLandingPads() to tidyLandingPads()
- Use doxygen member groups instead of "//===- EH ---"... so it is clear
  where a group ends.
- I had to add an ugly const_cast at two places in the AsmPrinter
  because the available MachineFunction pointers are const, but the code
  wants to call tidyLandingPads() in between
  (markFunctionEnd()/endFunction()).

Ahmed Bougacha 456dce8a84 [CodeGen] Pull MMI helpers from FunctionLoweringInfo to MMI. NFC.
They're not SelectionDAG- or FunctionLoweringInfo-specific.  They
are, however, specific to building MMI from IR.
We could make them members, but it's nice having MMI be a "simple" data
structure and this logic kept separate.

This also lets us reuse them from GlobalISel.

Arnold Schwaighofer 3f25658143 swifterror: Don't compute swifterror vregs during instruction selection
The code used llvm basic block predecessors to decided where to insert phi
nodes. Instruction selection can and will liberally insert new machine basic
block predecessors. There is not a guaranteed one-to-one mapping from pred.
llvm basic blocks and machine basic blocks.

Therefore the current approach does not work as it assumes we can mark
predecessor machine basic block as needing a copy, and needs to know the set of
all predecessor machine basic blocks to decide when to insert phis.

Instead of computing the swifterror vregs as we select instructions, propagate
them at the end of instruction selection when the MBB CFG is complete.

When an instruction needs a swifterror vreg and we don't know the value yet,
generate a new vreg and remember this "upward exposed" use, and reconcile this
at the end of instruction selection.

This will only happen if the target supports promoting swifterror parameters to
registers and the swifterror attribute is used.

Manman Ren e221a870d3 Swift Calling Convention: swifterror target-independent change.
At IR level, the swifterror argument is an input argument with type
ErrorObject**. For targets that support swifterror, we want to optimize it
to behave as an inout value with type ErrorObject*; it will be passed in a
fixed physical register.

The main idea is to track the virtual registers for each swifterror value. We
define swifterror values as AllocaInsts with swifterror attribute or a function
argument with swifterror attribute.

In SelectionDAGISel.cpp, we set up swifterror values (SwiftErrorVals) before
handling the basic blocks.

When iterating over all basic blocks in RPO, before actually visiting the basic
block, we call mergeIncomingSwiftErrors to merge incoming swifterror values when
there are multiple predecessors or to simply propagate them. There, we create a
virtual register for each swifterror value in the entry block. For predecessors
that are not yet visited, we create virtual registers to hold the swifterror
values at the end of the predecessor. The assignments are saved in
SwiftErrorWorklist and will be materialized at the end of visiting the basic
block.

When visiting a load from a swifterror value, we copy from the current virtual
register assignment. When visiting a store to a swifterror value, we create a
virtual register to hold the swifterror value and update SwiftErrorMap to
track the current virtual register assignment.

Sanjoy Das c0c59fe14e [Statepoints] Fix yet another issue around gc pointer uniqueing
Given that StatepointLowering now uniques derived pointers before
putting them in the per-statepoint spill map, we may end up with missing
entries for derived pointers when we visit a gc.relocate on a pointer
that was de-duplicated away.

Fix this by keeping two maps, one mapping gc pointers to their
de-duplicated values, and one mapping a de-duplicated value to the slot
it is spilled in.

David Majnemer 1ef654024f [X86] Don't give catch objects a displacement of zero
Catch objects with a displacement of zero do not initialize a catch
object.  The displacement is relative to %rsp at the end of the
function's prologue for x86_64 targets.

If we place an object at the top-of-stack, we will end up wit a
displacement of zero resulting in our catch object remaining
uninitialized.

Address this by creating our catch objects as fixed objects.  We will
ensure that the UnwindHelp object is created after the catch objects so
that no catch object will have a displacement of zero.

once non-trivial: it was a computation layered on top of funclet
coloring.

These days, LLVM IR directly encodes what
calculateCatchReturnSuccessorColors computed, obsoleting the need for
it.

No functionality change is intended.

David Majnemer 8a1c45d6e8 [IR] Reformulate LLVM's EH funclet IR
While we have successfully implemented a funclet-oriented EH scheme on
top of LLVM IR, our scheme has some notable deficiencies:
- catchendpad and cleanupendpad are necessary in the current design
  but they are difficult to explain to others, even to seasoned LLVM
  experts.
- catchendpad and cleanupendpad are optimization barriers.  They cannot
  be split and force all potentially throwing call-sites to be invokes.
  This has a noticable effect on the quality of our code generation.
- catchpad, while similar in some aspects to invoke, is fairly awkward.
  It is unsplittable, starts a funclet, and has control flow to other
  funclets.
- The nesting relationship between funclets is currently a property of
  control flow edges.  Because of this, we are forced to carefully
  analyze the flow graph to see if there might potentially exist illegal
  nesting among funclets.  While we have logic to clone funclets when
  they are illegally nested, it would be nicer if we had a
  representation which forbade them upfront.

Let's clean this up a bit by doing the following:
- Instead, make catchpad more like cleanuppad and landingpad: no control
  flow, just a bunch of simple operands;  catchpad would be splittable.
- Introduce catchswitch, a control flow instruction designed to model
  the constraints of funclet oriented EH.
- Make funclet scoping explicit by having funclet instructions consume
  the token produced by the funclet which contains them.
- Remove catchendpad and cleanupendpad.  Their presence can be inferred
  implicitly using coloring information.

N.B.  The state numbering code for the CLR has been updated but the
veracity of it's output cannot be spoken for.  An expert should take a
look to make sure the results are reasonable.

Jonas Paulsson f12b925bb1 [Stack realignment] Handling of aligned allocas.
This patch implements dynamic realignment of stack objects for targets
with a non-realigned stack pointer. Behaviour in FunctionLoweringInfo
is changed so that for a target that has StackRealignable set to
false, over-aligned static allocas are considered to be variable-sized
objects and are handled with DYNAMIC_STACKALLOC nodes.

It would be good to group aligned allocas into a single big alloca as
an optimization, but this is yet todo.

SystemZ benefits from this, due to its stack frame layout.

New tests SystemZ/alloca-03.ll for aligned allocas, and
SystemZ/alloca-04.ll for "no-realign-stack" attribute on functions.

Review and help from Ulrich Weigand and Hal Finkel.

Reid Kleckner c20276d0b2 [WinEH] Move WinEHFuncInfo from MachineModuleInfo to MachineFunction
Summary:
Now that there is a one-to-one mapping from MachineFunction to
WinEHFuncInfo, we don't need to use a DenseMap to select the right
WinEHFuncInfo for the current funclet.

The main challenge here is that X86WinEHStatePass is an IR pass that
doesn't have access to the MachineFunction. I gave it its own
WinEHFuncInfo object that it uses to calculate state numbers, which it
then throws away. As long as nobody creates or removes EH pads between
this pass and SDAG construction, we will get the same state numbers.

The other thing X86WinEHStatePass does is to mark the EH registration
node. Instead of communicating which alloca was the registration through
WinEHFuncInfo, I added the llvm.x86.seh.ehregnode intrinsic.  This
intrinsic generates no code and simply marks the alloca in use.

Reid Kleckner 6ddae31045 [WinEH] Fix funclet prologues with stack realignment
We already had a test for this for 32-bit SEH catchpads, but those don't
actually create funclets. We had a bug that only appeared in funclet
prologues, where we would establish EBP and ESI as our FP and BP, and
then downstream prologue code would overwrite them.

While I was at it, I fixed Win64+funclets+stackrealign. This issue
doesn't come up as often there due to the ABI requring 16 byte stack
alignment, but now we can rest easy that AVX and WinEH will work well
together =P.

The new implementation works at least as well as the old implementation
did.

Also delete the associated preparation tests. They don't exercise
interesting corner cases of the new implementation. All the codegen
tests of the EH tables have already been ported.

Our current emission strategy is to emit the funclet prologue in the
CatchPad's normal destination.  This is problematic because
intra-funclet control flow to the normal destination is not erroneous
and results in us reevaluating the prologue if said control flow is
taken.

Instead, use the CatchPad's location for the funclet prologue.  This
correctly models our desire to have unwind edges evaluate the prologue
but edges to the normal destination result in typical control flow.

All of the complexity is in cleanupret, and it mostly follows the same
codepaths as catchret, except it doesn't take a return value in RAX.

This small example now compiles and executes successfully on win32:

Reid Kleckner 94b704c469 [SEH] Emit 32-bit SEH tables for the new EH IR
The 32-bit tables don't actually contain PC range data, so emitting them
is incredibly simple.

The 64-bit tables, on the other hand, use the same table for state
numbering as well as label ranges. This makes things more difficult, so
it will be implemented later.

Reid Kleckner 51189f0a1d [WinEH] Avoid creating MBBs for LLVM BBs that cannot contain code
Typically these are catchpads, which hold data used to decide whether to
catch the exception or continue unwinding. We also shouldn't create MBBs
for catchendpads, cleanupendpads, or terminatepads, since no real code
can live in them.

This fixes a problem where MI passes (like the register allocator) would
try to put code into catchpad blocks, which are not executed by the
runtime. In the new world, blocks ending in invokes now have many
possible successors.

Reid Kleckner df1295173f [WinEH] Emit prologues and epilogues for funclets
Summary:
32-bit funclets have short prologues that allocate enough stack for the
largest call in the whole function. The runtime saves CSRs for the
funclet. It doesn't restore CSRs after we finally transfer control back
to the parent funciton via a CATCHRET, but that's a separate issue.
32-bit funclets also have to adjust the incoming EBP value, which is
what llvm.x86.seh.recoverframe does in the old model.

64-bit funclets need to spill CSRs as normal. For simplicity, this just
spills the same set of CSRs as the parent function, rather than trying
to compute different CSR sets for the parent function and each funclet.
64-bit funclets also allocate enough stack space for the largest
outgoing call frame, like 32-bit.

Reid Kleckner e69bdb8619 [WinEH] Make llvm.x86.seh.restoreframe work for stack realignment prologues
The incoming EBP value points to the end of a local stack allocation, so
we can use that to restore ESI, the base pointer. Once we do that, we
can use local stack allocations. If we know we need stack realignment,
spill the original frame pointer in the prologue and reload it after
restoring ESI.

David Majnemer 7fddeccb8b Move the personality function from LandingPadInst to Function
The personality routine currently lives in the LandingPadInst.

This isn't desirable because:
- All LandingPadInsts in the same function must have the same
  personality routine.  This means that each LandingPadInst beyond the
  first has an operand which produces no additional information.

- There is ongoing work to introduce EH IR constructs other than
  LandingPadInst.  Moving the personality routine off of any one
  particular Instruction and onto the parent function seems a lot better
  than have N different places a personality function can sneak onto an
  exceptional function.

Reid Kleckner f12c030f48 [WinEH] Add 32-bit SEH state table emission prototype
This gets all the handler info through to the asm printer and we can
look at the .xdata tables now. I've convinced one small catch-all test
case to work, but other than that, it would be a stretch to say this is
functional.

The state numbering algorithm avoids doing any scope reconstruction as
we do for C++ to simplify the implementation.

This moves all the state numbering code for C++ EH to WinEHPrepare so
that we can call it from the X86 state numbering IR pass that runs
before isel.

Now we just call the same state numbering machinery and insert a bunch

Igor Laevsky 423bc9ec4c [StatepointLowering] Support of the gc.relocates for invoke statepoints.
This change implements support for lowering of the gc.relocates tied to the invoke statepoint.
This is acomplished by storing frame indices of the lowered values in "StatepointRelocatedValues" map inside FunctionLoweringInfo instead of storing them in per-basic block structure StatepointLowering.
After this change StatepointLowering is used only during "LowerStatepoint" call and it is not necessary to store it as a field in SelectionDAGBuilder anymore.

This introduces an intrinsic called llvm.eh.exceptioncode. It is lowered
by copying the EAX value live into whatever basic block it is called
from. Obviously, this only works if you insert it late during codegen,
because otherwise mid-level passes might reschedule it.

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith d4a19a396d DebugInfo: Assert dbg.declare/value insts are valid
Remove early returns for when `getVariable()` is null, and just assert
that it never happens.  The Verifier already confirms that there's a
valid variable on these intrinsics, so we should assume the debug info
isn't broken.  I also updated a check for a `!dbg` attachment, which the
Verifier similarly guarantees.

Reid Kleckner d4523e3c51 [SEH] Reimplement x64 SEH using WinEHPrepare
This now emits simple, unoptimized xdata tables for __C_specific_handler
based on the handlers listed in @llvm.eh.actions calls produced by
WinEHPrepare.

This adds support for running __finally blocks when exceptions are
thrown, and removes the old landingpad fan-in codepath.

I ran some manual execution tests on small basic test cases with and
without optimization, as well as on Chrome base_unittests, which uses a
small amount of SEH.  I'm sure there are bugs, and we may need to
revert.

The IPToState table must be emitted after we have generated labels for
all functions in the table.  Don't rely on the order of the list of
globals.  Instead, utilize WinEHFuncInfo to tell us how many catch
handlers we expect to outline.  Once we know we've visited all the catch
handlers, emit the cppxdata.

Eric Christopher 11e4df73c8 getRegForInlineAsmConstraint wants to use TargetRegisterInfo for
a lookup, pass that in rather than use a naked call to getSubtargetImpl.
This involved passing down and around either a TargetMachine or
TargetRegisterInfo. Update all callers/definitions around the targets

Philip Reames 1a1bdb22bf [Statepoints 3/4] Statepoint infrastructure for garbage collection: SelectionDAGBuilder
This is the third patch in a small series.  It contains the CodeGen support for lowering the gc.statepoint intrinsic sequences (223078) to the STATEPOINT pseudo machine instruction (223085).  The change also includes the set of helper routines and classes for working with gc.statepoints, gc.relocates, and gc.results since the lowering code uses them.  

With this change, gc.statepoints should be functionally complete.  The documentation will follow in the fourth change, and there will likely be some cleanup changes, but interested parties can start experimenting now.

I'm not particularly happy with the amount of code or complexity involved with the lowering step, but at least it's fairly well isolated.  The statepoint lowering code is split into it's own files and anyone not working on the statepoint support itself should be able to ignore it.  

During the lowering process, we currently spill aggressively to stack. This is not entirely ideal (and we have plans to do better), but it's functional, relatively straight forward, and matches closely the implementations of the patchpoint intrinsics.  Most of the complexity comes from trying to keep relocated copies of values in the same stack slots across statepoints.  Doing so avoids the insertion of pointless load and store instructions to reshuffle the stack.  The current implementation isn't as effective as I'd like, but it is functional and 'good enough' for many common use cases.  

In the long term, I'd like to figure out how to integrate the statepoint lowering with the register allocator.  In principal, we shouldn't need to eagerly spill at all.  The register allocator should do any spilling required and the statepoint should simply record that fact.  Depending on how challenging that turns out to be, we may invest in a smarter global stack slot assignment mechanism as a stop gap measure.

complex address expressions. In the case of OpPiece expressions this is
wasting a lot of storage in IR, because when an aggregate type is, e.g.,
SROA'd into all of its n individual members, the IR will contain n copies
of the DIVariable, all alike, only differing in the complex address
reference at the end.

By making the complex address into an extra argument of the
dbg.value/dbg.declare intrinsics, all of the pieces can reference the
same variable and the complex address expressions can be uniqued across
the CU, too.
Down the road, this will allow us to move other flags, such as
"indirection" out of the DIVariable, too.

The new intrinsics look like this:

Reid Kleckner 16e5541211 musttail: Forward regparms of variadic functions on x86_64
Summary:
If a variadic function body contains a musttail call, then we copy all
of the remaining register parameters into virtual registers in the
function prologue. We track the virtual registers through the function
body, and add them as additional registers to pass to the call. Because
this is all done in virtual registers, the register allocator usually
gives us good code. If the function does a call, however, it will have
to spill and reload all argument registers (ew).

Forwarding regparms on x86_32 is not implemented because most compilers
don't support varargs in 32-bit with regparms.

Reid Kleckner 2d9bb65b3d ARM / x86_64 varargs: Don't save regparms in prologue without va_start
There's no need to do this if the user doesn't call va_start. In the
future, we're going to have thunks that forward these register
parameters with musttail calls, and they won't need these spills for
handling va_start.

Most of the test suite changes are adding va_start calls to existing
tests to keep things working.
