Krzysztof Parzyszek 0ca43d4488 DebugInfoMetadata: convert Optional to std::optional 2022-12-04 11:52:02 -06:00
Kazu Hirata e842c06c2d [IR] Use std::nullopt instead of None (NFC)
This patch mechanically replaces None with std::nullopt where the
compiler would warn if None were deprecated. The intent is to reduce
the amount of manual work required in migrating from Optional to
std::optional.

This is part of an effort to migrate from llvm::Optional to
std::optional:

OCHyams 913b561c0a [Assignment Tracking][6/*] Add trackAssignments function
The Assignment Tracking debug-info feature is outlined in this RFC:

https://discourse.llvm.org/t/
rfc-assignment-tracking-a-better-way-of-specifying-variable-locations-in-ir

Add trackAssignments which adds assignment tracking metadata to a function for
a specified set of variables. The intended callers are the inliner and the
front end - those calls will be added in separate patches.

I've added a pass called declare-to-assign (AssignmentTrackingPass) that
converts dbg.declare intrinsics to dbg.assigns using trackAssignments so that
the function can be easily tested (see
llvm/test/DebugInfo/Generic/track-assignments.ll). The pass could also be used
by front ends to easily test out enabling assignment tracking.

Kristina Bessonova 4ecb2b8ef6 [DebugInfo][Metadata] Make AllEnumTypes holding TrackingMDNodeRef
Having AllEnumtypes to be a vector of TrackingMDNodeRef makes it possible
to reflect changes in metadata in the vector if they took place before DIBuilder
being finalized.

Otherwise, we end up with heap-use-after-free because AllEnumTypes contains
metadata that no longer valid.

Consider a case where we have a class containing a definition of a enum,
so this enum has the class as a scope. For some reason (doesn't matter for
the current issue), we create a temporary debug metadata for this class, and
then resolve it while finalizing CGDebugInfo.

In the case of collision during uniqifying the temporary, we then need
to replace its uses with a new pointer. If a temporary's user is unique
(this is the enum mentioned above), we may need re-uniquefying it,
which may return a new pointer in the case of another collision.
If so, the pointer we stored in AllEnumTypes vector become dangling.
Making AllEnumTypes hodling TrackingMDNodeRef should solve this problem
(see debug-info-enum-metadata-collision.cpp test for details).

serge-sans-paille e188aae406 Cleanup header dependencies in LLVMCore
Based on the output of include-what-you-use.

This is a big chunk of changes. It is very likely to break downstream code
unless they took a lot of care in avoiding hidden ehader dependencies, something
the LLVM codebase doesn't do that well :-/

I've tried to summarize the biggest change below:

- llvm/include/llvm-c/Core.h: no longer includes llvm-c/ErrorHandling.h
- llvm/IR/DIBuilder.h no longer includes llvm/IR/DebugInfo.h
- llvm/IR/IRBuilder.h no longer includes llvm/IR/IntrinsicInst.h
- llvm/IR/LLVMRemarkStreamer.h no longer includes llvm/Support/ToolOutputFile.h
- llvm/IR/LegacyPassManager.h no longer include llvm/Pass.h
- llvm/IR/Type.h no longer includes llvm/ADT/SmallPtrSet.h
- llvm/IR/PassManager.h no longer includes llvm/Pass.h nor llvm/Support/Debug.h

And the usual count of preprocessed lines:
$ clang++ -E  -Iinclude -I../llvm/include ../llvm/lib/IR/*.cpp -std=c++14 -fno-rtti -fno-exceptions | wc -l
before: 6400831
after:  6189948

200k lines less to process is no that bad ;-)

I added some tests exercising the API a little as well as an additional small

llvm.dbg.value with undef and the same metadata info as one used to create the

Yonghong Song 3466e00716 Reland "[Attr] support btf_type_tag attribute"
This is to revert commit f95bd18b5f (Revert "[Attr] support

Previous change failed to handle cases like below:
    $ cat reduced.c
    void a(*);
    void a() {}
    $ clang -c reduced.c -O2 -g

In such cases, during clang IR generation, for function a(),
CGCodeGen has numParams = 1 for FunctionType. But for
FunctionTypeLoc we have FuncTypeLoc.NumParams = 0. By using
FunctionType.numParams as the bound to access FuncTypeLoc
params, a random crash is triggered. The bug fix is to
check against FuncTypeLoc.NumParams before accessing
FuncTypeLoc.getParam(Idx).

Yonghong Song 737e4216c5 [Attr] support btf_type_tag attribute
This patch added clang codegen and llvm support
for btf_type_tag support. Currently, btf_type_tag
attribute info is preserved in DebugInfo IR only for
pointer types associated with typedef, global variable

is emitted to dwarf.

The following is an example:
  $ cat test.c
  #define __tag __attribute__((btf_type_tag("tag")))
  int __tag *g;
  $ clang -O2 -g -c test.c
  $ llvm-dwarfdump --debug-info test.o

                  DW_AT_byte_size (0x04)

  0x00000049:   NULL

fields, these fields will be used by Flang FE to create debug
information necessary for representing Fortran modules at IR level.

Furthermore DW_TAG_module is also extended to contain these fields.
If these fields are missing, debuggers like GDB won't be able to
show Fortran modules information correctly.

Adrian Prantl d5180ea134 Add debug info support for Swift/Clang APINotes.
In order for dsymutil to collect .apinotes files (which capture
attributes such as nullability, Swift import names, and availability),
I want to propose adding an apinotes: field to DIModule that gets
translated into a DW_AT_LLVM_apinotes (path) nested inside
DW_TAG_module. This will be primarily used by LLDB to indirectly
extract the Swift names of Clang declarations that were deserialized
from DWARF.

Adrian Prantl e4e7e44765 Add an SDK attribute to DICompileUnit
This is part of PR44213 https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44213

When importing (system) Clang modules, LLDB needs to know which SDK
(e.g., MacOSX, iPhoneSimulator, ...) they came from. While the sysroot
attribute contains the absolute path to the SDK, this doesn't work
well when the debugger is run on a different machine than the
compiler, and the SDKs are installed in different directories. It thus
makes sense to just store the name of the SDK instead of the absolute
path, so it can be found relative to LLDB.
