Reid Kleckner 5e866e411c Add -fgnuc-version= to control __GNUC__ and other GCC macros
I noticed that compiling on Windows with -fno-ms-compatibility had the
side effect of defining __GNUC__, along with __GNUG__, __GXX_RTTI__, and
a number of other macros for GCC compatibility. This is undesirable and
causes Chromium to do things like mix __attribute__ and __declspec,
which doesn't work. We should have a positive language option to enable
GCC compatibility features so that we can experiment with
-fno-ms-compatibility on Windows. This change adds -fgnuc-version= to be
that option.

My issue aside, users have, for a long time, reported that __GNUC__
doesn't match their expectations in one way or another. We have
encouraged users to migrate code away from this macro, but new code
continues to be written assuming a GCC-only environment. There's really
nothing we can do to stop that. By adding this flag, we can allow them
to choose their own adventure with __GNUC__.

This overlaps a bit with the "GNUMode" language option from -std=gnu*.
The gnu language mode tends to enable non-conforming behaviors that we'd
rather not enable by default, but the we want to set things like
__GXX_RTTI__ by default, so I've kept these separate.

Rainer Orth 2da6eea07c [clang, test] Fix Clang :: Headers/max_align.c on 64-bit SPARC
Clang :: Headers/max_align.c currently FAILs on 64-bit SPARC:

error: 'error' diagnostics seen but not expected:
    File /vol/llvm/src/clang/dist/test/Headers/max_align.c Line 12: static_assert failed due to requirement '8 == _Alignof(max_align_t)' ""
  1 error generated.

This happens because SuitableAlign isn't defined for SPARCv9 unlike SPARCv8
(which uses the default of 64 bits). gcc's sparc/sparc.h has

  #define BIGGEST_ALIGNMENT (TARGET_ARCH64 ? 128 : 64)

This patch sets SuitableAlign to match and updates the corresponding testcase.

John McCall 059b823e70 Fix the predefined exponent limit macros for the 16-bit IEEE format.
The magnitude range of normalized _Float16 is 2^-14 (~6e-5) to
(2-2^-10)*2^15 (65504). You might think, then, that the code is
correct to defne FLT16_MIN_EXP and FLT16_MAX_EXP to be -14 and 15
respectively. However, for some reason the C specification actually
specifies a bias for these macros:

C11 5.2.4.2.2:

  - minimum negative integer such that FLT_RADIX raised to one less than
that power is a normalized floating-point number, e_min:
      FLT_MIN_EXP
      DBL_MIN_EXP
      LDBL_MIN_EXP

  - maximum integer such that FLT_RADIX raised to one less than that
power is a representable finite floating-point number, e_max:
      FLT_MAX_EXP
      DBL_MAX_EXP
      LDBL_MAX_EXP

FLT16_MIN_EXP and FLT16_MAX_EXP should clearly be biased the same way,
and other compilers do in fact do so, as do our OpenCL headers for `half`.

Additionally, FLT16_MIN_10_EXP is just wrong.

Ali Tamur bc1cd929bf Introduce code_model macros
Summary:
gcc defines macros such as __code_model_small_ based on the user passed command line flag -mcmodel. clang accepts a flag with the same name and similar effects, but does not generate any macro that the user can use. This cl narrows the gap between gcc and clang behaviour.

However, achieving full compatibility with gcc is not trivial: The set of valid values for mcmodel in gcc and clang are not equal. Also, gcc defines different macros for different architectures. In this cl, we only tackle an easy part of the problem and define the macro only for x64 architecture. When the user does not specify a mcmodel, the macro for small code model is produced, as is the case with gcc.

Summary:
This raises __STDCPP_DEFAULT_NEW_ALIGNMENT__ from 8 to 16 on Win64.
This matches platforms that follow the usual `2 * sizeof(void*)`
alignment requirement for malloc. We might want to consider making that
the default rather than relying on long double alignment.

Darwin and OpenBSD are the only platforms which use `long int` for
`__INTPTR_TYPE__`. The other platforms use `int` in 32-bit, and `long
int` on 64-bit (except for VMS and Windows which are LLP64). Adjust the

Saleem Abdulrasool 729379a1e1 Driver: hoist the `wchar_t` handling to the driver
Move the logic for determining the `wchar_t` type information into the
driver. Rather than passing the single bit of information of
`-fshort-wchar` indicate to the frontend the desired type of `wchar_t`
through a new `-cc1` option of `-fwchar-type` and indicate the
signedness through `-f{,no-}signed-wchar`. This replicates the current
logic which was spread throughout Basic into the
`RenderCharacterOptions`.

Most of the changes to the tests are to ensure that the frontend uses
the correct type. Add a new test set under `test/Driver/wchar_t.c` to
ensure that we calculate the proper types for the various cases.

Petar Jovanovic 5076511ed6 [mips] Introducing option -mabs=[legacy/2008]
In patch r205628 using abs.[ds] instruction is forced, as they should behave
in accordance with flags Has2008 and ABS2008. Unfortunately for revisions
prior mips32r6 and mips64r6, abs.[ds] is not generating correct result when
working with NaNs. To generate a sequence which always produce a correct
result but also to allow user more control on how his code is compiled,
option -mabs is added where user can choose legacy or 2008.
By default legacy mode is used on revisions prior R6. Mips32r6 and mips64r6
use abs2008 mode by default.

Yaxun Liu 39195062c2 Add OpenCL 2.0 atomic builtin functions as Clang builtin
OpenCL 2.0 atomic builtin functions have a scope argument which is ideally
represented as synchronization scope argument in LLVM atomic instructions.

Clang supports translating Clang atomic builtin functions to LLVM atomic
instructions. However it currently does not support synchronization scope
of LLVM atomic instructions. Without this, users have to use LLVM assembly
code to implement OpenCL atomic builtin functions.

This patch adds OpenCL 2.0 atomic builtin functions as Clang builtin
functions, which supports generating LLVM atomic instructions with
synchronization scope operand.

Currently only constant memory scope argument is supported. Support of
non-constant memory scope argument will be added later.

Summary:
Authored by Senthil Kumar Selvaraj

This patch adds barebones support in Clang for the (experimental) AVR target. It uses the integrated assembler for assembly, and the GNU linker for linking, as lld doesn't know about the target yet.

The DataLayout string is the same as the one in AVRTargetMachine.cpp. The alignment specs look wrong to me, as it's an 8 bit target and all types only need 8 bit alignment. Clang failed with a datalayout mismatch error when I tried to change it, so I left it that way for now.
