* Update version number in DR tests from 4.0 to 4
 * Teach make_cxx_dr_status script about version numbers that don't contain a
   period.
 * Update cxx_status.html and cxx_dr_status.html to list Clang 4 features as
   "Clang 4" rather than "SVN"

Clang 4 features are still listed in yellow rather than green until release.

Richard Smith 26b86ea8b1 [c++17] Implement P0522R0 as written. This allows a template template argument
to be specified for a template template parameter whenever the parameter is at
least as specialized as the argument (when there's an obvious and correct
mapping from uses of the parameter to uses of the argument). For example, a
template with more parameters can be passed to a template template parameter
with fewer, if those trailing parameters have default arguments.

This is disabled by default, despite being a DR resolution, as it's fairly
broken in its current state: there are no partial ordering rules to cope with
template template parameters that have different parameter lists, meaning that
code that attempts to decompose template-ids based on arity can hit unavoidable
ambiguity issues.

The diagnostics produced on a non-matching argument are also pretty bad right
now, but I aim to improve them in a subsequent commit.

Richard Smith 82da19ddb3 [c++1z] P0003R5: Removing dynamic exception specifications.
We continue to support dynamic exception specifications in C++1z as an
extension, but produce an error-by-default warning when we encounter one. This
allows users to opt back into the feature with a warning flag, and implicitly
opts system headers back into the feature should they happen to use it.

There is one semantic change implied by P0003R5 but not implemented here:
violating a throw() exception specification should now call std::terminate
directly instead of calling std::unexpected(), but since P0003R5 also removes
std::unexpected() and std::set_unexpected, and the default unexpected handler
calls std::terminate(), a conforming C++1z program cannot tell that we are
still calling it. The upside of this strategy is perfect backwards
compatibility; the downside is that we don't get the more efficient 'noexcept'
codegen for 'throw()'.

Richard Smith 6e5610fa4d Implement ABI proposal for throwing noexcept function pointers, per discussion
on cxx-abi-dev (thread starting 2016-10-11). This is currently hidden behind a
cc1-only -m flag, pending discussion of how best to deal with language changes
that require use of new symbols from the ABI library.

Richard Smith a560ccf2af Switch to a different workaround for unimplementability of P0145R3 in MS ABIs.
Instead of ignoring the evaluation order rule, ignore the "destroy parameters
in reverse construction order" rule for the small number of problematic cases.
This only causes incorrect behavior in the rare case where both parameters to
an overloaded operator <<, >>, ->*, &&, ||, or comma are of class type with
non-trivial destructor, and the program is depending on those parameters being
destroyed in reverse construction order.

We could do a little better here by reversing the order of parameter
destruction for those functions (and reversing the argument evaluation order
for all direct calls, not just those with operator syntax), but that is not a
complete solution to the problem, as the same situation can be reached by an
indirect function call.

Richard Smith 762672a73a Re-commit r282556, reverted in r282564, with a fix to CallArgList::addFrom to
function correctly when targeting MS ABIs (this appears to have never mattered
prior to this change).

Update test case to always cover both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows ABIs, since
they behave somewhat differently from each other here.

Update test case to also cover operators , && and ||, which it appears are also
affected by P0145R3 (they're not explicitly called out by the design document,
but this is the emergent behavior of the existing wording).


Original commit message:

P0145R3 (C++17 evaluation order tweaks): evaluate the right-hand side of
assignment and compound-assignment operators before the left-hand side. (Even

Richard Smith 5179eb7821 P0136R1, DR1573, DR1645, DR1715, DR1736, DR1903, DR1941, DR1959, DR1991:
Replace inheriting constructors implementation with new approach, voted into
C++ last year as a DR against C++11.

Instead of synthesizing a set of derived class constructors for each inherited
base class constructor, we make the constructors of the base class visible to
constructor lookup in the derived class, using the normal rules for
using-declarations.

For constructors, UsingShadowDecl now has a ConstructorUsingShadowDecl derived
class that tracks the requisite additional information. We create shadow
constructors (not found by name lookup) in the derived class to model the
actual initialization, and have a new expression node,
CXXInheritedCtorInitExpr, to model the initialization of a base class from such
a constructor. (This initialization is special because it performs real perfect
forwarding of arguments.)

In cases where argument forwarding is not possible (for inalloca calls,
variadic calls, and calls with callee parameter cleanup), the shadow inheriting
constructor is not emitted and instead we directly emit the initialization code
into the caller of the inherited constructor.

Note that this new model is not perfectly compatible with the old model in some
corner cases. In particular:
 * if B inherits a private constructor from A, and C uses that constructor to
   construct a B, then we previously required that A befriends B and B
   befriends C, but the new rules require A to befriend C directly, and
 * if a derived class has its own constructors (and so its implicit default
   constructor is suppressed), it may still inherit a default constructor from
   a base class

Implement lambda capture of *this by copy.
For e.g.:
struct A {

  int d = 10;
  auto foo() { return [*this] (auto a) mutable { d+=a; return d; }; }

};

auto L = A{}.foo(); // A{}'s lifetime is gone.

// Below is still ok, because *this was captured by value.
assert(L(10) == 20);
assert(L(100) == 120);

If the capture was implicit, or [this] (i.e. *this was captured by reference), this code would be otherwise undefined.

Implementation Strategy:
  - amend the parser to accept *this in the lambda introducer
  - add a new king of capture LCK_StarThis
  - teach Sema::CheckCXXThisCapture to handle by copy captures of the
    enclosing object (i.e. *this)
  - when CheckCXXThisCapture does capture by copy, the corresponding 
    initializer expression for the closure's data member 
    direct-initializes it thus making a copy of '*this'.
  - in codegen, when assigning to CXXThisValue, if *this was captured by 
    copy, make sure it points to the corresponding field member, and
    not, unlike when captured by reference, what the field member points
    to.
  - mark feature as implemented in svn

Richard Smith 4f902c7ecc P0188R1: add support for standard [[fallthrough]] attribute. This is almost
exactly the same as clang's existing [[clang::fallthrough]] attribute, which
has been updated to have the same semantics. The one significant difference
is that [[fallthrough]] is ill-formed if it's not used immediately before a
switch label (even when -Wimplicit-fallthrough is disabled). To support that,
we now build a CFG of any function that uses a '[[fallthrough]];' statement
to check.

In passing, fix some bugs with our support for statement attributes -- in
particular, diagnose their use on declarations, rather than asserting.

Richard Smith 42b1057244 N3922: direct-list-initialization of an auto-typed variable no longer deduces a
std::initializer_list<T> type. Instead, the list must contain a single element
and the type is deduced from that.

In Clang 3.7, we warned by default on all the cases that would change meaning
due to this change. In Clang 3.8, we will support only the new rules -- per
the request in N3922, this change is applied as a Defect Report against earlier
versions of the C++ standard.

This change is not entirely trivial, because for lambda init-captures we
previously did not track the difference between direct-list-initialization and
copy-list-initialization. The difference was not previously observable, because
the two forms of initialization always did the same thing (the elements of the
initializer list were always copy-initialized regardless of the initialization
style used for the init-capture).

test macro __cpp_experimental_concepts is set to 1 (as opposed to
201501) to indicate that the feature is enabled, but the
implementation is incomplete.

The link to the Concepts TS in cxx_status is updated to refer to the
PDTS (N4377). Additional changes related to __has_feature and
__has_extension are to follow in a later change.

Relevant tests include:

test/Lexer/cxx-features.cpp

The test file is updated with testing of the C++14 + Concepts TS mode.
The expected behaviour is the same as that of the C++14 modes except
for the case of __cpp_experimental_concepts."

Reid Kleckner 7ffc3fbb2f C++14: Disable sized deallocation by default due to ABI breakage
There are no widely deployed standard libraries providing sized
deallocation functions, so we have to punt and ask the user if they want
us to use sized deallocation. In the future, when such libraries are
deployed, we can teach the driver to detect them and enable this
feature.

N3536 claimed that a weak thunk from sized to unsized deallocation could
be emitted to avoid breaking backwards compatibility with standard
libraries not providing sized deallocation. However, this approach and
other variations don't work in practice.

With the weak function approach, the thunk has to have default
visibility in order to ensure that it is overridden by other DSOs
providing sized deallocation. Weak, default visibility symbols are
particularly expensive on MachO, so John McCall was considering
disabling this feature by default on Darwin. It also changes behavior
ELF linking behavior, causing certain otherwise unreferenced object
files from an archive to be pulled into the link.

Our second approach was to use an extern_weak function declaration and
do an inline conditional branch at the deletion call site. This doesn't
work because extern_weak only works on MachO if you have some archive
providing the default value of the extern_weak symbol. Arranging to
provide such an archive has the same challenges as providing the symbol
in the standard library. Not to mention that extern_weak doesn't really
work on COFF.

Richard Smith 13307f5f24 [c++1z] Implement nested-namespace-definitions.
This allows 'namespace A::B { ... }' as a shorthand for 'namespace A {
namespace B { ... } }'. We already supported this correctly for error recovery;
promote that support to a full implementation.

This is not the right implementation: we do not maintain source fidelity
because we desugar the nested namespace definition in the parser. This is
tricky to avoid, since the definition genuinely does inject one named
entity per level in the namespace name.

attribute syntax. There's nothing generalized about this; it's one of
several first-class attribute syntaxes we support, all of which are
more-or-less equally general.

As discussed on cfe-commits, we may want to revisit this if we start allowing
this syntax as an extension in C (or if C adopts the syntax), but hopefully
this diagnostic wording will be crystal clear to everyone in the mean time.

Richard Smith b47c36f8e1 C++1y sized deallocation: if we have a use, but not a definition, of a sized
deallocation function (and the corresponding unsized deallocation function has
been declared), emit a weak discardable definition of the function that
forwards to the corresponding unsized deallocation.

This allows a C++ standard library implementation to provide both a sized and
an unsized deallocation function, where the unsized one does not just call the
sized one, for instance by putting both in the same object file within an
archive.

Richard Smith 2ddcbab8ff Ugly ugly hack for libstdc++-4.6 and libstdc++-4.7 compatibility. These
libraries have an incorrect definition of std::common_type (inherited from a
bug in the standard -- see LWG issue 2141), whereby they produce reference
types when they should not.

If we instantiate a typedef named std::common_type<...>::type, which is defined
in a system header as decltype(... ? ... : ...), and the decltype produces a
reference type, convert it to the non-reference type. (This doesn't affect any
LWG2141-conforming implementation of common_type, such as libc++'s, because the
default implementation of common_type<...>::type isn't supposed to produce a
reference type.)

This is horrible. I'm really sorry. :( Better ideas appreciated!

Richard Smith 18743deb21 cxx_status: Consistently refer to C++11 as "C++11", not as "C++'11" nor as

Richard Smith 4e8376279d cxx_status: extended sizeof has been essentially complete for some time. As
agreed on IRC, any remaining issues are best dealt with as bugs.

We have no __has_feature check for this; please shout if you'd like one. This
feature seems too small to be worth its own release notes bullet (again, please
shout if you disagree).
