Thomas Lively a1ae9566ea [WebAssembly] Disallow 'shared-mem' rather than 'atomics'
Summary:
The WebAssembly backend automatically lowers atomic operations and TLS
to nonatomic operations and non-TLS data when either are present and
the atomics or bulk-memory features are not present, respectively. The
resulting object is no longer thread-safe, so the linker has to be
told not to allow it to be linked into a module with shared
memory. This was previously done by disallowing the 'atomics' feature,
which prevented any objct with its atomic operations or TLS removed
from being linked with any object containing atomics or TLS, and
therefore preventing it from being linked into a module with shared
memory since shared memory requires atomics.

However, as of https://github.com/WebAssembly/threads/issues/144, the
validation rules are relaxed to allow atomic operations to validate
with unshared memories, which makes it perfectly safe to link an
object with stripped atomics and TLS with another object that still
contains TLS and atomics as long as the resulting module has an
unshared memory. To allow this kind of link, this patch disallows a
pseudo-feature 'shared-mem' rather than 'atomics' to communicate to
the linker that the object is not thread-safe. This means that the
'atomics' feature is available to accurately reflect whether or not an
object has atomics enabled.

As a drive-by tweak, this change also requires that bulk-memory be
enabled in addition to atomics in order to use shared memory. This is
because initializing shared memories requires bulk-memory operations.

Thomas Lively ca9ba76481 [WebAssembly] Replace all calls with generalized multivalue calls
Summary:
Extends the multivalue call infrastructure to tail calls, removes all
legacy calls specialized for particular result types, and removes the
CallIndirectFixup pass, since all indirect call arguments are now
fixed up directly in the post-insertion hook.

In order to keep supporting pretty-printed defs and uses in test
expectations, MCInstLower now inserts an immediate containing the
number of defs for each call and call_indirect. The InstPrinter is
updated to query this immediate if it is present and determine which
MCOperands are defs and uses accordingly.

Depends on D72902.

Benjamin Kramer adcd026838 Make llvm::StringRef to std::string conversions explicit.
This is how it should've been and brings it more in line with
std::string_view. There should be no functional change here.

This is mostly mechanical from a custom clang-tidy check, with a lot of
manual fixups. It uncovers a lot of minor inefficiencies.

This doesn't actually modify StringRef yet, I'll do that in a follow-up.

Guanzhong Chen 42bba4b852 [WebAssembly] Implement thread-local storage (local-exec model)
Summary:
Thread local variables are placed inside a `.tdata` segment. Their symbols are
offsets from the start of the segment. The address of a thread local variable
is computed as `__tls_base` + the offset from the start of the segment.

`.tdata` segment is a passive segment and `memory.init` is used once per thread
to initialize the thread local storage.

`__tls_base` is a wasm global. Since each thread has its own wasm instance,
it is effectively thread local. Currently, `__tls_base` must be initialized
at thread startup, and so cannot be used with dynamic libraries.

`__tls_base` is to be initialized with a new linker-synthesized function,
`__wasm_init_tls`, which takes as an argument a block of memory to use as the
storage for thread locals. It then initializes the block of memory and sets
`__tls_base`. As `__wasm_init_tls` will handle the memory initialization,
the memory does not have to be zeroed.

To help allocating memory for thread-local storage, a new compiler intrinsic
is introduced: `__builtin_wasm_tls_size()`. This instrinsic function returns
the size of the thread-local storage for the current function.

The expected usage is to run something like the following upon thread startup:

    __wasm_init_tls(malloc(__builtin_wasm_tls_size()));

means the weak symbol cannot be overridden at runtime. This was likely caused by different translation

Thomas Lively 3f34e1b883 [WebAssembly] Merge used feature sets, update atomics linkage policy
Summary:
It does not currently make sense to use WebAssembly features in some functions
but not others, so this CL adds an IR pass that takes the union of all used
feature sets and applies it to each function in the module. This allows us to
prevent atomics from being lowered away if some function has opted in to using
them. When atomics is not enabled anywhere, we detect whether there exists any
atomic operations or thread local storage that would be stripped and disallow
linking with objects that contain atomics if and only if atomics or tls are
stripped. When atomics is enabled, mark it as used but do not require it of
other objects in the link. These changes allow libraries that do not use atomics
to be built once and linked into both single-threaded and multithreaded
binaries.

Thomas Lively f3b4f99007 [WebAssembly] Remove uses of ThreadModel
Summary:
In the clang UI, replaces -mthread-model posix with -matomics as the
source of truth on threading. In the backend, replaces
-thread-model=posix with the atomics target feature, which is now
collected on the WebAssemblyTargetMachine along with all other used
features. These collected features will also be used to emit the
target features section in the future.

The default configuration for the backend is thread-model=posix and no
atomics, which was previously an invalid configuration. This change
makes the default valid because the thread model is ignored.

A side effect of this change is that objects are never emitted with
passive segments. It will instead be up to the linker to decide
whether sections should be active or passive based on whether atomics
are used in the final link.

This patch fixes clang-tidy warnings on wasm-only files.
The list of checks used is:
`-*,clang-diagnostic-*,llvm-*,misc-*,-misc-unused-parameters,readability-identifier-naming,modernize-*`

`modernize-*`. But I've seen in multiple CLs in LLVM the modernize style
was recommended and code was fixed based on the style, so I added it as
well.)

The common fixes are:
- Variable names start with an uppercase letter
- Function names start with a lowercase letter
- Use `auto` when you use casts so the type is evident
- Use inline initialization for class member variables
- Use `= default` for empty constructors / destructors
- Use `using` in place of `typedef`

Heejin Ahn 0bb9865011 [WebAssembly] Restore stack pointer right after catch instruction
Summary:
After the staack is unwound due to a thrown exxception,
`__stack_pointer` global can point to an invalid address. So
a `global.set` to restore `__stack_pointer` should be inserted right
after `catch` instruction.

But after r352598 the `global.set` instruction is inserted not right
after `catch` but after `block` - `br-on-exn` - `end_block` -
`extract_exception` sequence. This CL fixes it.

While doing that, we can actually move ReplacePhysRegs pass after
LateEHPrepare and merge EHRestoreStackPointer pass into LateEHPrepare,
and now placing `global.set` to `__stack_pointer` right after `catch` is
much easier. Otherwise it is hard to guarantee that `global.set` is
still right after `catch` and not touched with other transformations, in
which case we have to do something to hoist it.

Heejin Ahn d6f487863d [WebAssembly] Exception handling: Switch to the new proposal
Summary:
This switches the EH implementation to the new proposal:
https://github.com/WebAssembly/exception-handling/blob/master/proposals/Exceptions.md
(The previous proposal was
 https://github.com/WebAssembly/exception-handling/blob/master/proposals/old/Exceptions.md)

- Instruction changes
  - Now we have one single `catch` instruction that returns a except_ref
    value
  - `throw` now can take variable number of operations
  - `rethrow` does not have 'depth' argument anymore
  - `br_on_exn` queries an except_ref to see if it matches the tag and
branches to the given label if true.
  - `extract_exception` is a pseudo instruction that simulates popping
values from wasm stack. This is to make `br_on_exn`, a very special
instruction, work: `br_on_exn` puts values onto the stack only if it
is taken, and the # of values can vay depending on the tag.

- Now there's only one `catch` per `try`, this patch removes all special
handling for terminate pad with a call to `__clang_call_terminate`.
Before it was the only case there are two catch clauses (a normal
  `catch` and `catch_all` per `try`).

- Make `rethrow` act as a terminator like `throw`. This splits BB after
`rethrow` in WasmEHPrepare, and deletes an unnecessary `unreachable`
  after `rethrow` in LateEHPrepare.

- Now we stop at all catchpads (because we add wasm `catch` instruction
that catches all exceptions), this creates new
  `findWasmUnwindDestinations` function in SelectionDAGBuilder.

- Now we use `br_on_exn` instrution to figure out if an except_ref
matches the current tag or not, LateEHPrepare generates this sequence
  for catch pads:
```
  catch
  block i32
  br_on_exn $__cpp_exception
  end_block
  extract_exception
```

- Branch analysis for `br_on_exn` in WebAssemblyInstrInfo

- Other various misc. changes to switch to the new proposal.

Heejin Ahn 04c4894911 [WebAssembly] Add WebAssemblyException information analysis
Summary:
A WebAssemblyException object contains BBs that belong to a 'catch' part
of the try-catch-end structure. Because CFGSort requires all the BBs
within a catch part to be sorted together as it does for loops, this
pass calculates the nesting structure of catch part of exceptions in a
function. Now this assumes the use of Windows EH instructions.

Heejin Ahn 5ef4d5f9c1 [WebAssembly] Support instruction selection for catching exceptions
Summary:
This lowers exception catching-related instructions:
1. Lowers `wasm.catch` intrinsic to `catch` instruction
2. Removes `catchpad` and `cleanuppad` instructions; they are not
necessary after isel phase. (`MachineBasicBlock::isEHFuncletEntry()` or
`MachineBasicBlock::isEHPad()` can be used instead.)
3. Lowers `catchret` and `cleanupret` instructions to pseudo `catchret`
and `cleanupret` instructions in isel, which will be replaced with other
instructions in `WebAssemblyExceptionPrepare` pass.
4. Adds 'WebAssemblyExceptionPrepare` pass, which is for running various
transformation for EH. Currently this pass only replaces `catchret` and
`cleanupret` instructions into appropriate wasm instructions to make
this patch successfully run until the end.

Currently this does not handle lowering of intrinsics related to LSDA
info generation (`wasm.landingpad.index` and `wasm.lsda`), because they
cannot be tested without implementing `EHStreamer`'s wasm-specific
handlers. They are marked as TODO, which is needed to make isel pass.
Also this does not generate `try` and `end_try` markers yet, which will
be handled in later patches.

This patch is based on the first wasm EH proposal.

Sanjoy Das 26d11ca4b0 (Re-landing) Expose a TargetMachine::getTargetTransformInfo function
Re-land r321234. It had to be reverted because it broke the shared
library build. The shared library build broke because there was a
missing LLVMBuild dependency from lib/Passes (which calls
TargetMachine::getTargetIRAnalysis) to lib/Target. As far as I can
tell, this problem was always there but was somehow masked
before (perhaps because TargetMachine::getTargetIRAnalysis was a
virtual function).

Original commit message:

This makes the TargetMachine interface a bit simpler. We still need
the std::function in TargetIRAnalysis to avoid having to add a
dependency from Analysis to Target.

See discussion:
http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2017-December/119749.html

I avoided adding all of the backend owners to this review since the
change is simple, but let me know if you feel differently about this.

Chandler Carruth 6bda14b313 Sort the remaining #include lines in include/... and lib/....
I did this a long time ago with a janky python script, but now
clang-format has built-in support for this. I fed clang-format every
line with a #include and let it re-sort things according to the precise
LLVM rules for include ordering baked into clang-format these days.

I've reverted a number of files where the results of sorting includes
isn't healthy. Either places where we have legacy code relying on
particular include ordering (where possible, I'll fix these separately)
or where we have particular formatting around #include lines that
I didn't want to disturb in this patch.

This patch is *entirely* mechanical. If you get merge conflicts or
anything, just ignore the changes in this patch and run clang-format
over your #include lines in the files.

Sorry for any noise here, but it is important to keep these things
stable. I was seeing an increasing number of patches with irrelevant
re-ordering of #include lines because clang-format was used. This patch
at least isolates that churn, makes it easy to skip when resolving
conflicts, and gets us to a clean baseline (again).

* Passes not handling a null TargetMachine
  `addRequired<TargetPassConfig>` and call
  `getAnalysis<TargetPassConfig>`.

* MachineFunctionPasses now use MF.getTarget().

* Remove all the TargetMachine constructors.
* Remove INITIALIZE_TM_PASS.

This fixes a crash when running `llc -start-before prologepilog`.

PEI needs StackProtector, which gets constructed without a TargetMachine
by the pass manager. The StackProtector pass doesn't handle the case
where there is no TargetMachine, so it segfaults.

eliminates the need for prologue/epilogue code to be manually stackified,
which significantly simplifies the code.

This does require running LiveIntervals a second time. It's useful to think
of these late passes not as late optimization passes, but as a domain-specific
compression algorithm based on knowledge of liveness information. It's used to
compress the code after all conventional optimizations are complete, which is
why it uses LiveIntervals at a phase when actual optimization passes don't
typically need it.

Derek Schuff ad154c837e Introduce MachineFunctionProperties and the AllVRegsAllocated property
MachineFunctionProperties represents a set of properties that a MachineFunction
can have at particular points in time. Existing examples of this idea are
MachineRegisterInfo::isSSA() and MachineRegisterInfo::tracksLiveness() which
will eventually be switched to use this mechanism.
This change introduces the AllVRegsAllocated property; i.e. the property that
all virtual registers have been allocated and there are no VReg operands
left.

With this mechanism, passes can declare that they require a particular property
to be set, or that they set or clear properties by implementing e.g.
MachineFunctionPass::getRequiredProperties(). The MachineFunctionPass base class
verifies that the requirements are met, and handles the setting and clearing
based on the delcarations. Passes can also directly query and update the current
properties of the MF if they want to have conditional behavior.

This change annotates the target-independent post-regalloc passes; future
changes will also annotate target-specific ones.

Dan Gohman d85ab7fc10 [WebAssembly] Don't use setRequiresStructuredCFG(true).
While we still do want reducible control flow, the RequiresStructuredCFG
flag imposes more strict structure constraints than WebAssembly wants.
Unsetting this flag enables critical edge splitting and tail merging.

Also, disable TailDuplication explicitly, as it doesn't support virtual
registers, and was previously only disabled by the RequiresStructuredCFG
flag.

Derek Schuff 71434ff642 [WebAssembly] Disable register stackification and coloring when not optimizing
These passes are optimizations, and should be disabled when not
optimizing.
Also create an MCCodeGenInfo so the opt level is correctly plumbed to
the backend pass manager.
Also remove the command line flag for disabling register coloring;
running llc with -O0 should now be useful for debugging, so it's not
necessary.

Dan Gohman 8887d1faed [WebAssembly] Fix handling of COPY instructions in WebAssemblyRegStackify.
Move RegStackify after coalescing and teach it to use LiveIntervals instead
of depending on SSA form. This avoids a problem where a register in a COPY
instruction is stackified and then subsequently coalesced with a register
that is not stackified.

This also puts it after the scheduler, which allows us to simplify the
EXPR_STACK constraint, as we no longer have instructions being reordered
after stackification and before coloring.

Derek Schuff 8bb5f2927a [WebAssembly] Implement eliminateCallFramePseudo
Summary:
Implement eliminateCallFramePsuedo to handle ADJCALLSTACKUP/DOWN
pseudo-instructions. Add a test calling a vararg function which causes non-0
adjustments. This revealed an issue with RegisterCoalescer wherein it
eliminates a COPY from SP32 to a vreg but failes to update the live ranges
of EXPR_STACK, causing a machineinstr verifier failure (so this test
is commented out).

Also add a dynamic alloca test, which causes a callseq_end dag node with
a 0 (instead of undef) second argument to be generated. We currently fail to
select that, so adjust the ADJCALLSTACKUP tablegen code to handle it.

Derek Schuff 9769debf88 [WebAssembly] Implement prolog/epilog insertion and FrameIndex elimination
Summary:
Use the SP32 physical register as the base for FrameIndex
lowering. Update it and the __stack_pointer global var in the prolog and
epilog. Extend the mapping of virtual registers to wasm locals to
include the physical registers.

Rather than modify the target-independent PrologEpilogInserter (which
asserts that there are no virtual registers left) include a
slightly-modified copy for Wasm that does not have this assertion and
only clears the virtual registers if scavenging was needed (which of
course it isn't for wasm).

Dan Gohman 1cf96c0c34 [WebAssembly] Reintroduce ARGUMENT moving logic
Reinteroduce the code for moving ARGUMENTS back to the top of the basic block.
While the ARGUMENTS physical register prevents sinking and scheduling from
moving them, it does not appear to be sufficient to prevent SelectionDAG from
moving them down in the initial schedule. This patch introduces a patch that
moves them back to the top immediately after SelectionDAG runs.

This is still hopefully a temporary solution. http://reviews.llvm.org/D14750 is
one alternative, though the review has not been favorable, and proposed
alternatives are longer-term and have other downsides.

This fixes the main outstanding -verify-machineinstrs failures, so it adds
-verify-machineinstrs to several tests.
