Add a comment when there is a shifted value,
    add x9, x0, #291, lsl #12 ; =1191936
but not when the immediate value is unshifted,
    subs x9, x0, #256 ; =256

Amara Emerson a35c2c7942 [GlobalISel] Implement fewerElements legalization for vector reductions.
This patch adds 3 methods, one for power-of-2 vectors which use tree
reductions using vector ops, before a final reduction op. For non-pow-2
types it generates multiple narrow reductions and combines the values with
scalar ops.

Matt Arsenault 5c5e6d951e TableGen/GlobalISel: Partially handle immAllOnesV/immAllZerosV
These should really match either G_BUILD_VECTOR or
G_BUILD_VECTOR_TRUNC, but there doesn't seem to be an existing
mechanism for matching alternative opcodes. There is GIM_SwitchOpcode,
but it seems to assume it's oly only used for matcher optimization.

I could also omit any opcode check and rely on the matcher directly
checking the opcode, but the table optimizer currently assumes there
has to be an opcode check.

Also doesn't try to handle undef elements like the DAG version.

Matt Arsenault ee1a69824d GlobalISel: Combine G_UNMERGE_VALUES with G_TRUNC
G_BITCAST can be lowered with a pair of G_UNMERGE_VALUES and
G_MERGE_VALUES with different types, but G_UNMERGE_VALUES of a vector
can also be implemented with a bitcast to a scalar, which introduces
the possibility for infinite loops. Try to eliminate an illegal source
register type in the artifact combiner to avoid this from happening.

Avoids infinite looping in the legalizer in a future patch which
allows lowering G_UNMERGE_VALUES of a vector source with a G_BITCAST.

Sander de Smalen 51c2fa0e2a Improve reduction intrinsics by overloading result value.
This patch uses the mechanism from D62995 to strengthen the
definitions of the reduction intrinsics by letting the scalar
result/accumulator type be overloaded from the vector element type.

For example:

; The LLVM LangRef specifies that the scalar result must equal the
; vector element type, but this is not checked/enforced by LLVM.
  declare i32 @llvm.experimental.vector.reduce.or.i32.v4i32(<4 x i32> %a)

This patch changes that into:

  declare i32 @llvm.experimental.vector.reduce.or.v4i32(<4 x i32> %a)

Which has the type-constraint more explicit and causes LLVM to check
the result type with the vector element type.

Jessica Paquette 8184b6e7f6 [GlobalISel][AArch64] Add generic legalization rule for extends
This adds a legalization rule for G_ZEXT, G_ANYEXT, and G_SEXT which allows
extends whenever the types will fit in registers (or the source is an s1).

Update tests. Add GISel checks throughout all of arm64-vabs.ll,
where we now select a good portion of the code. Add GISel checks to
arm64-subvector-extend.ll, which has a good number of vector extends in it.

We were falling back on G_ZEXT in arm64-vabs.ll before, preventing us from

This adds legalizer support for those 3, which gives us selection via the

Eli Friedman 29c0609301 [AArch64] Fix condition for "high-vector" DUP optimizations.
AArch64 NEON has a bunch of instructions with a "2" suffix that extract
the top half of the source vectors, instead of the bottom half. We have
some DAGCombines to try to take advantage of that. However, they
assumed that any EXTRACT_VECTOR was extracting the high half of the
vector in question.

This issue has apparently existed since the AArch64 backend was merged.

Sanjay Patel 33f4a97287 [DAGCombiner] use narrow load to avoid vector extract
If we have (extract_subvector(load wide vector)) with no other users,
that can just be (load narrow vector). This is intentionally conservative.
Follow-ups may loosen the one-use constraint to account for the extract cost
or just remove the one-use check.

The memop chain updating is based on code that already exists multiple times
in x86 lowering, so that should be pulled into a helper function as a follow-up.

Background: this is a potential improvement noticed via regressions caused by
making x86's peekThroughBitcasts() not loop on consecutive bitcasts (see
comments in D33137).

Amara Emerson 816542ceb3 [AArch64] Enable use of reduction intrinsics.
The new experimental reduction intrinsics can now be used, so I'm enabling this
for AArch64. We will need this for SVE anyway, so it makes sense to do this for
NEON reductions as well.

The existing code to match shufflevector patterns are replaced with a direct
lowering of the reductions to AArch64-specific nodes. Tests updated with the
new, simpler, representation.
