This commit fixes a bug that's tracked by PR 10758 and duplicates like PR 30343.
The bug causes clang to crash with a stack overflow while recursing infinitely
trying to perform copy-initialization on a type without a copy constructor but
with a constructor that accepts another type that can be constructed using the
original type.
The commit fixes this bug by detecting the recursive behavior and failing
correctly with an appropriate error message. It also tries to provide a
meaningful diagnostic note about the constructor which leads to this behavior.

Other places, where "if (ScalarCast != CK_Invalid)" is used, never get to the
"if" with CK_Invalid. tryGCCVectorConvertAndSplat can get to the "if" with
CK_Invalid and it looks like expected case. So we have to use something other
than CK_Invalid, e.g. CK_NoOp.

Turns out clang wasn't really handling vla's (*) in C++11's for-range entirely correctly.
For e.g. This would lead to generation of buggy IR:

b = -1; // This store would affect the '__end = vla + b'
for (int &c : vla)
c = 0;
}
Additionally, code-gen would get confused when VLA's were reference-captured by lambdas, and then used in a for-range, which would result in an attempt to generate IR for '__end = vla + b' within the lambda's body - without any capture of 'b' - hence the assertion.
This patch modifies clang, so that for VLA's it translates the end pointer approximately into:
__end = __begin + sizeof(vla)/sizeof(vla->getElementType())
As opposed to the __end = __begin + b;
I considered passing a magic value into codegen - or having codegen special case the '__end' variable when it referred to a variably-modified type, but I decided against that approach, because it smelled like I would be increasing a complicated form of coupling, that I think would be even harder to maintain than the above approach (which can easily be optimized (-O1) to refer to the run-time bound that was calculated upon array's creation or copied into the lambda's closure object).
(*) why oh why gcc would you enable this by default?! ;)

This patch teaches clang to perform implicit scalar to vector conversions
when one of the operands of a binary vector expression is a scalar which
can be converted to the element type of the vector without truncation
following GCC's implementation.
If the (constant) scalar is can be casted safely, it is implicitly casted to the
vector elements type and splatted to produce a vector of the same type.

The heuristic that we use here is:
* the left-hand side must be a simple identifier or a class member access
* the right-hand side must be '<' followed by either a '>' or by a type-id that
cannot be an expression (in particular, not followed by '(' or '{')
* there is a '>' token matching the '<' token
The second condition guarantees the expression would otherwise be ill-formed.
If we're confident that the user intended the name before the '<' to be
interpreted as a template, diagnose the fact that we didn't interpret it
that way, rather than diagnosing that the template arguments are not valid
expressions.

This improves our behavior in a few ways:
* We now guarantee that if a member is marked as being a member
specialization, there will actually be a member specialization declaration
somewhere on its redeclaration chain. This fixes a crash in modules builds
where we would try to check that there was a visible declaration of the
member specialization and be surprised to not find any declaration of it at
all.
* We don't set the source location of the in-class declaration of the member
specialization to the out-of-line declaration's location until we have
actually finished merging them. This fixes some very silly looking
diagnostics, where we'd point a "previous declaration is here" note at the
same declaration we're complaining about. Ideally we wouldn't mess with the
prior declaration's location at all, but too much code assumes that the
first declaration of an entity is a reasonable thing to use as an indication
of where it was declared, and that's not really true for a member
specialization unless we fake it like this.

In the above code, prior to this patch, when substituting into the noexcept expression, i.e. transforming the DeclRefExpr that represents 'x' - clang attempts to capture 'x' because Sema's CurContext is still pointing to the pattern FunctionDecl (i.e. the templated-decl set in FinishTemplateArgumentDeduction) which does not match the substituted 'x's DeclContext, which leads to an attempt to capture and an assertion failure.
We fix this by adjusting Sema's CurContext to point to the substituted FunctionDecl under which the noexcept specifier's argument should be transformed, and so the ParmVarDecl that 'x' refers to has the same declcontext and no capture is attempted.
I briefly investigated whether the SwitchContext should occur right after VisitMethodDecl creates the new substituted FunctionDecl, instead of only during instantiating the exception specification - but seeing no other code that seemed to rely on that, I decided to leave it just for the duration of the exception specification instantiation.

We were sometimes doing a function->pointer conversion in
Sema::CheckPlaceholderExpr, which isn't the job of CheckPlaceholderExpr.
So, when we saw typeof(OverloadedFunctionName), where
OverloadedFunctionName referenced a name with only one function that
could have its address taken, we'd give back a function pointer type
instead of a function type. This is incorrect.
I kept the logic for doing the function pointer conversion in
resolveAndFixAddressOfOnlyViableOverloadCandidate because it was more
consistent with existing ResolveAndFix* methods.

In C typos in arguments in a call of an overloadable function lead
to a failure of construction of CallExpr and following recovery does
not handle created delayed typos. This causes an assertion fail in
Sema::~Sema since Sema::DelayedTypos remains not empty.

having dependant types in the way that C++ does.

To support this, an optional marker "#pragma clang module contents" is
recognized in module map files, and the rest of the module map file from that
point onwards is treated as the source of the module. Preprocessing a module
map produces the input module followed by the marker and then the preprocessed
contents of the module.
Ignoring line markers, a preprocessed module might look like this:

The preprocessed output generates line markers, which are not accepted by the
module map parser, so -x c++-module-map-cpp-output should be used to compile
such outputs.
A couple of major parts do not work yet:
1) The files that are listed in the module map must exist on disk, in order to
build the on-disk header -> module lookup table in the PCM file. To fix
this, we need the preprocessed output to track the file size and other stat
information we might use to build the lookup table.
2) Declaration ownership semantics don't work properly yet, since mapping from
a source location to a module relies on mapping from FileIDs to modules,
which we can't do if module transitions can occur in the middle of a file.

Summary:
First, getCurFunction looks through blocks and lambdas, which is wrong.
Inside a lambda, va_start should refer to the lambda call operator
prototype. This fixes PR32737.
Second, we shouldn't use any of the getCur* methods, because they look
through contexts that we don't want to look through (EnumDecl,
CapturedStmtDecl). We can use CurContext directly as the calling
context.
Finally, this code assumed that CallExprs would never appear outside of
code contexts (block, function, obj-c method), which is wrong. Struct
member initializers are an easy way to create and parse exprs in a
non-code context.

The issue with the original patch was a failure to check that the closure type has been created within the LambdaScopeInfo before querying its DeclContext - instead of just assuming it has (silly!). A reduced example such as this highlights the problem:

Combine the logic doing the ms_abi/sysv_abi checks into one function so
that each check and its logical opposite are near each other. Now we
don't need two Sema entry points for MS va_start and regular va_start.
Refactor the code that checks if the va_start caller is a function,
block, or obj-c method. We do this in three places, and they are all
buggy for variadic lambdas (PR32737). After this change, I have one
place to apply the functional fix.

A boxed expression evaluates its subexpr and then calls an objc method to transform it into another value with pointer type. The objc method can never be constexpr and therefore this expression can never be evaluated. Fixes a miscompile boxing expressions with side-effects.
Also make ObjCBoxedExpr handling a normal part of the expression evaluator instead of being the only case besides full-expression where we check for integer overflow.

This commit adds a new error that disallows methods that have parameters/return
values with a vector type for some older X86 targets. This diagnostic is
needed because objc_msgSend doesn't support SIMD vector registers/return values
on X86 in iOS < 9 and OS X < 10.11. Note that we don't necessarily know if the
vector argument/return value will use a SIMD register, so instead we chose to
be conservative and prohibit all vector types.

clang-cl sets MicrosoftCompat. In that mode, we always give enums a fixed
underlying type, and for enums with fixed underlying type we never enter the
block that tries to emit ext_ms_forward_ref_enum. Fix this by requiring an
explicit underlying type when we're skipping this diagnostic.
We had a test for this warning, but it only ran in C++98 mode. clang-cl always
enables -std=c++14, so MicrosoftCompatibiliy-cxx98.cpp is a fairly useless
test. Fold it into MicrosoftCompatibility.cpp -- that way, the test checks if
-Wmicrosoft-enum-forward-reference can fire in clang-cl builds.

Windows Itanium aims to use MSVC export and import semantics. Inner
class members shouldn't be exported on a dllexport explicit
instantiation definition of the outer class, and they shouldn't be
imported on a dllimport explicit instantiation declaration of the outer
class (instead a local copy should be emitted). We were doing the first
but not the second, and this mismatch can lead to link errors. Fix the
behavior and add tests for both.

Prior to this commit the external_source_symbol attribute wasn't supported by
#pragma clang attribute for the following two reasons:
- The Named attribute subject hasn't been supported by TableGen.
- There was no way to specify a subject match rule for #pragma clang attribute

This commit teaches Clang to recognize editor placeholders that are produced
when an IDE like Xcode inserts a code-completion result that includes a
placeholder. Now when the lexer sees a placeholder token, it emits an
'editor placeholder in source file' error and creates an identifier token
that represents the placeholder. The parser/sema can now recognize the
placeholders and can suppress the diagnostics related to the placeholders. This
ensures that live issues in an IDE like Xcode won't get spurious diagnostics
related to placeholders.
This commit also adds a new compiler option named '-fallow-editor-placeholders'
that silences the 'editor placeholder in source file' error. This is useful
for an IDE like Xcode as we don't want to display those errors in live issues.

Summary:
Certain implicitly generated coroutine statements, such as the calls to 'return_value()' or `return_void()` or `get_return_object_on_allocation_failure()`, cannot be built until the promise type is no longer dependent. This means they are not built until after the coroutine body statement has been transformed.
This patch fixes an issue where these statements would never be built for coroutine templates.
It also fixes a small issue where diagnostics about `get_return_object_on_allocation_failure()` were incorrectly suppressed.

This reverts an attempt to check that types match when matching a
dependently-typed non-type template parameter. (This comes up when matching the
parameters of a template template parameter against the parameters of a
template template argument.)
The matching rules here are murky at best. Our behavior after this revert is
definitely wrong for certain C++17 features (for 'auto' template parameter
types within the parameter list of a template template argument in particular),
but our behavior before this revert is wrong for some pre-existing testcases,
so reverting to our prior behavior seems like our best option.

Calculating the hash in Sema::ActOnTagFinishDefinition could happen before
all sub-Decls were parsed or processed, which would produce the wrong hash
value. Change to calculating the hash on the first use and storing the value
instead. Also, avoid using the macros that were only for Boolean fields and
use an explicit checker during the DefintionData merge. No functional change,
but was this blocking other ODRHash patches.

Matching the function-homing support for modular codegen. Any type

Some decls are created not where they are written, but in other module
files/users (implicit special members and function template implicit
specializations). To correctly identify them, use a bit next to the definition
to track the modular codegen property.
Discussed whether the module file bit could be omitted in favor of
reconstituting from the modular codegen decls list - best guess today is that
the efficiency improvement of not having to deserialize the whole list whenever
any function is queried by a module user is worth it for the small size
increase of this redundant (list + bit-on-def) representation.

For OpenCL, the private address space qualifier is 0 in AST. Before this change, 0 address space qualifier
is always mapped to target address space 0. As now target private address space is specified by
alloca address space in data layout, address space qualifier 0 needs to be mapped to alloca addr space specified by the data layout.
This change has no impact on targets whose alloca addr space is 0.

lambda capture used by the created block
The commit r288866 introduced guaranteed copy elision to C++ 17. This
unfortunately broke the lambda to block conversion in C++17 (the compiler
crashes when performing IRGen). This commit fixes the conversion by avoiding
copy elision for the capture that captures the lambda that's used in the block
created by the lambda to block conversion process.

This adds the new pragma and the first variant, contract(on/off/fast).
The pragma has the same block scope rules as STDC FP_CONTRACT, i.e. it can be
placed at the beginning of a compound statement or at file scope.
Similarly to STDC FP_CONTRACT there is no need to use attributes. First an
annotate token is inserted with the parsed details of the pragma. Then the
annotate token is parsed in the proper contexts and the Sema is updated with
the corresponding FPOptions using the shared ActOn function with STDC
FP_CONTRACT.
After this the FPOptions from the Sema is propagated into the AST expression
nodes. There is no change here.
I was going to add a 'default' option besides 'on/off/fast' similar to STDC
FP_CONTRACT but then decided against it. I think that we'd have to make option
uppercase then to avoid using 'default' the keyword. Also because of the
scoped activation of pragma I am not sure there is really a need a for this.

Fixed the assertion due to absence of source location for
implicitly defined types (using addImplicitTypedef()).
During Sema checks the source location is being expected
and therefore an assertion is triggered.
The change is not specific to OpenCL. But it is particularly
common for OpenCL types to be declared implicitly in Clang
to support the mode without the standard header.

Summary:
Certain implicitly generated coroutine statements, such as the calls to 'return_value()' or `return_void()` or `get_return_object_on_allocation_failure()`, cannot be built until the promise type is no longer dependent. This means they are not built until after the coroutine body statement has been transformed.
This patch fixes an issue where these statements would never be built for coroutine templates.
It also fixes a small issue where diagnostics about `get_return_object_on_allocation_failure()` were incorrectly suppressed.

Our _MM_HINT_T0/T1 constant values are 3/2 which matches gcc, but not icc or Intel documentation. Interestingly gcc had this same bug on their implementation of the gather/scatter builtins at one point too.

Reasoning behind this change was allowing the function to accept all values
from range [-128, 255] since all of them can be encoded in an 8bit wide
value.
This differs from the prior state where only range [-128, 127] was accepted,
where values were assumed to be signed, whereas now the actual
interpretation of the immediate is deferred to the consumer as required.

When ARC is enabled in Objective-C++, comparisons between a pointer and
Objective-C object pointer typically result in errors like this:
"invalid operands to a binary expression". This error message can be quite
confusing as it doesn't provide a solution to the problem, unlike the non-C++
diagnostic: "implicit conversion of Objective-C pointer type 'id' to C pointer
type 'void *' requires a bridged cast" (it also provides fix-its). This commit
forces comparisons between pointers and Objective-C object pointers in ARC to
use the Objective-C semantic rules to ensure that a better diagnostic is
reported.

This is a recommit of r299027 with an adjustment to the test
CodeGenCUDA/fp-contract.cu. The test assumed that even
though -ffp-contract=on is passed FE-based folding of FMA won't happen.
This is obviously wrong since the user is asking for this explicitly with the
option. CUDA is different that -ffp-contract=fast is on by default.
The test used to "work" because contract=fast and contract=on were maintained
separately and we didn't fold in the FE because contract=fast was on due to
the target-default. This patch consolidates the contract=on/fast/off state
into a ternary state hence the change in behavior.

Summary: When adding an Objective-C retainable type member to a C++ class, also check the LangOpts.ObjCWeak flag and the lifetime qualifier so __weak qualified Objective-C pointer members cause the class to be a non-POD type with non-trivial special members, so the compiler always emits the necessary runtime calls for copying, moving, and destroying the weak member. Summary:
This patch implements parsing of [[clang::suppress(rule, ...)]]
and [[gsl::suppress(rule, ...)]] attributes.
C++ Core Guidelines depend heavily on tool support for
rule enforcement. They also propose a way to suppress
warnings [1] which is by annotating any ancestor in AST
with the C++11 attribute [[gsl::suppress(rule1,...)]].
To have a mechanism to suppress non-C++ Core
Guidelines specific, an additional spelling of [[clang::suppress]]
is defined.
For example, to suppress the warning cppcoreguidelines-slicing,
one could do

This parsing can then be used by clang-tidy, which includes multiple
C++ Core Guidelines rules, to suppress warnings (see

For the exact naming of the rule in the attribute, there
are different possibilities, which will be defined in the
corresponding clang-tidy patch.
Currently, clang-tidy supports suppressing of warnings through "//
NOLINT" comments. There are some advantages that the attribute has:
- Suppressing specific warnings instead of all warnings
- Suppressing warnings in a block (namespace, function, compound
statement)
- Code formatting may split a statement into multiple lines,
thus a "// NOLINT" comment may be on the wrong line

Sema holds the current FPOptions which is adjusted by 'pragma STDC
FP_CONTRACT'. This then gets propagated into expression nodes as they are
built.
This encapsulates FPOptions so that this propagation happens opaquely rather
than directly with the fp_contractable on/off bit. This allows controlled
transitioning of fp_contractable to a ternary value (off, on, fast). It will
also allow adding more fast-math flags later.
This is toward moving fp-contraction=fast from an LLVM TargetOption to a
FastMathFlag in order to fix PR25721.

This fixes a regression caused by r298676, where constructor calls to
classes with non-trivial dtor were marked as unused if the first
argument is an initializer list. This is inconsistent (as the test
shows) and also warns on a reasonbly common code pattern where people
just call constructors to create and immediately destroy an object.

This change fixes a crash on initialization of a reference from ({}) during
template instantiation and incidentally improves diagnostics.
This reverts a prior attempt to handle this in r286721. Instead, we teach the
initialization code that initialization cannot be performed if a source type
is required and the initializer is an initializer list (which is not an
expression and does not have a type), and likewise for function-style cast
expressions.

The commit r297019 expanded the performSelector ObjC method family heuristic
to ensure that -Wobjc-unsafe-perform-selector covers all performSelector
variations. However, this made the -Warc-performSelector-leaks too noisy, as
that warning produces mostly false positives since the selector is unknown.
This commit reverts the ObjC method family heuristics introduced in r297019.
This ensures that -Warc-performSelector-leaks isn't too noisy. The commit still
preserves the coverage of -Wobjc-unsafe-perform-selector.

This commit adds support for a new attribute that will be used to
distinguish between extensible and inextensible enums. There are three
main purposes of this attribute:
1. Give better control over when enum-related warnings are issued.

the metaclass of root class derives from that root class. Therefore, we can
avoid the warning for instances of qualified Class objects that point to classes

points to a class that derives from NSObject at compile-time, so we have to
make a reasonable assumption that the majority of instances will do so.

This adds -Wbitfield-enum-conversion, which warns on implicit
conversions that happen on bitfield assignment that change the value of
some enumerators.
Values of enum type typically take on a very small range of values, so
they are frequently stored in bitfields. Unfortunately, there is no
convenient way to calculate the minimum number of bits necessary to
store all possible values at compile time, so users usually hard code a
bitwidth that works today and widen it as necessary to pass basic
testing and validation. This is very error-prone, and leads to stale
widths as enums grow. This warning aims to catch such bugs.
This would have found two real bugs in clang and two instances of
questionable code. See r297680 and r297654 for the full description of
the issues.
This warning is currently disabled by default while we investigate its
usefulness outside of LLVM.
The major cause of false positives with this warning is this kind of
enum:
enum E { W, X, Y, Z, SENTINEL_LAST };
The last enumerator is an invalid value used to validate inputs or size
an array. Depending on the prevalance of this style of enum across a
codebase, this warning may be more or less feasible to deploy. It also
has trouble on sentinel values such as ~0U.

Summary:
Some coroutine diagnostics need to point to the location of the first coroutine keyword in the function, like when diagnosing a `return` inside a coroutine. Previously we did this by storing each *valid* coroutine statement in a list and select the first one to use in diagnostics. However if every coroutine statement is invalid we would have no location to point to.
This patch fixes the storage of the first coroutine statement location, ensuring that it gets stored even when the resulting AST node would be invalid.
This patch also removes the `CoroutineStmts` list in `FunctionScopeInfo` because it was unused.

Previously when a coroutine was building the implicit setup/destroy
constructs it would emit diagostics about failures on the first co_await/co_return/co_yield
it encountered. This was confusing because that construct may not itself be ill-formed.
This patch moves the diagnostics to the function start instead.

The performSelector family of methods from Foundation use objc_msgSend to
dispatch the selector invocations to objects. However, method calls to methods
that return record types might have to use the objc_msgSend_stret as the return
value won't find into the register. This is also supported by this sentence from
performSelector documentation: "The method should not have a significant return
value and should take a single argument of type id, or no arguments". This
commit adds a new warning that warns when a selector which corresponds to a
method that returns a record type is passed into performSelector.

This commit adds an external_source_symbol attribute to Clang. This attribute
specifies that a declaration originates from an external source and describes
the nature of that source. This attribute will be used to improve IDE features
like 'jump-to-definition' for mixed-language projects or project that use

The exisiting warning for inconsistent overrides does not include the destructor
as it was noted in review that it was too noisy. Instead, add to a separate
warning group that is off by default for users who want consistent warnings
between methods and destructors.

Essentially, as a base class constructor does not construct virtual bases, such
a constructor for an abstract class does not need the corresponding base class
construction to be valid, and likewise for destructors.
This creates an awkward situation: clang will sometimes generate references to
the complete object and deleting destructors for an abstract class (it puts
them in the construction vtable for a derived class). But we can't generate a
"correct" version of these because we can't generate references to base class
constructors any more (if they're template specializations, say, we might not
have instantiated them and can't assume any other TU will emit a copy).
Fortunately, we don't need to, since no correct program can ever invoke them,
so instead emit symbols that just trap.
We should stop emitting references to these symbols, but still need to emit
definitions for compatibility.

The goal of this is to fix a bug in modules where we'd merge
FunctionDecls that differed in their pass_object_size attributes. Since
we can overload on the presence of pass_object_size attributes, this
behavior is incorrect.
We don't represent `N` in `pass_object_size(N)` as part of
ExtParameterInfo, since it's an error to overload solely on the value of
N. This means that we have a bug if we have two modules that declare
functions that differ only in their pass_object_size attrs, like so:

At the moment, we'll merge the foo decls, when we should instead emit a
diagnostic about an invalid overload. We seem to have similar (silent)
behavior if we overload only on the return type of `foo` instead; I'll
try to find a good place to put a FIXME (or I'll just file a bug) soon.
This patch also fixes a bug where we'd not output the proper extended
parameter info for declarations with pass_object_size attrs.

Rather than attempting to compare whether the previous and current top of
context stack are "equal" (which fails for a number of reasons, such as the
context stack entries containing pointers to objects on the stack, or reaching
the same "top of stack" entry through two different paths), track the depth of
context stack at which we last emitted a note and invalidate it when we pop the
context stack to less than that depth.
This causes us to emit some missing "in instantiation of" notes and to stop
emitting redundant "in instantiation of" stacks matching the previous stack in
rare cases.

A 'decltype(auto)' parameter can match any other kind of non-type template
parameter, so should be usable in place of any other parameter in a template
template argument. The standard is sadly extremely unclear on how this is
supposed to work, but this seems like the obviously-correct result.
It's less clear whether an 'auto' parameter should be able to match
'decltype(auto)', since the former cannot be used if the latter turns out to be
used for a reference type, but if we disallow that then consistency suggests we
should also disallow 'auto' matching 'T' for the same reason, defeating
intended use cases of the feature.

This patch adds two fields for use in the implementation of 'distribute parallel for':
The increment expression for the distribute loop. As the chunk assigned to a team is executed by multiple threads within the 'parallel for' region, the increment expression has to correspond to the value returned by the related runtime call (for_static_init).
The upper bound of the innermost loop ('for' in 'distribute parallel for') is not the globalUB expression normally used for pragma 'for' when found in isolation. It is instead the upper bound of the chunk assigned to the team ('distribute' loop). In this way, we prevent teams from executing chunks assigned to other teams.

AST nodes.
The information needed to uniquely identify an object is taken from the AST and
put into a one-dimensional byte stream. This stream is then hashed to give
a value to represent the object, which is stored with the other object data
in the module.
When modules are loaded, and Decl's are merged, the hash values of the two
Decl's are compared. Only Decl's with matched hash values will be merged.
Mismatch hashes will generate a module error, and if possible, point to the
first difference between the two objects.
The transform from AST to byte stream is a modified depth first algorithm.
Due to references between some AST nodes, a pure depth first algorithm could
generate loops. For Stmt nodes, a straight depth first processing occurs.
For Type and Decl nodes, they are replaced with an index number and only on
first visit will these nodes be processed. As an optimization, boolean
values are saved and stored together in reverse order at the end of the
byte stream to lower the ammount of data that needs to be hashed.
Compile time impact was measured at 1.5-2.0% during module building, and
negligible during builds without module building.

This appears to be the only template argument deduction context where we were
missing this check. Surprisingly, other implementations also appear to miss
the check in this case; it may turn out that important code is relying on
the widespread non-conformance here, in which case we'll need to reconsider.

After r264564, we allowed direct-list-initialization of an enum from an
integral value in C++1z mode, so long as that value can convert to the
enum's underlying type.
In this kind of initialization, we need a lvalue-to-rvalue conversion

(which will only ever work if T has default arguments for all non-pack
template parameters).

Summary:
Sema::CheckCompletedCoroutineBody was growing unwieldy with building all of the substatements. Also, constructors for CoroutineBodyStmt had way too many parameters.
Instead, CoroutineBodyStmt now defines CtorArgs structure with all of the required construction parameters.
CheckCompleteCoroutineBody delegates construction of individual substatements to short functions one per each substatement.
Also, added a drive-by fix of initializing CoroutinePromise to nullptr in ScopeInfo.h.
And addressed the FIXME that wanted to tail allocate extra room at the end of the CoroutineBodyStmt to hold parameter move expressions. (The comment was longer that the code that implemented tail allocation).

We model deduction-guides as functions with a new kind of name that identifies
the template whose deduction they guide; the bulk of this patch is adding the
new name kind. This gives us a clean way to attach an extensible list of guides
to a class template in a way that doesn't require any special handling in AST

After r260016 and r260017 disabled typo correction for ivars and properties
clang didn't report errors about unresolved identifier in the base of ivar and
property ref expressions. This meant that clang invoked CodeGen on invalid AST
which then caused a crash.
This commit re-enables typo correction for ivars and properites, and fixes the
PR25113 & PR26486 (that were originally fixed in r260017 and r260016) in a
different manner by transforming the Objective-C ivar reference expression with
'IsFreeIvar' preserved.

For non-template dllimport functions, MSVC allows providing an inline
definition without spelling out the attribute again. In the example below, f
remains a dllimport function.

causes it to be dropped. In the example below, f is not dllimport.

Contrary to the comment, DeclContext intends to guarantee that the lookup
results for a particular name will be stable across non-AST-mutating
operations, so a copy here should not be necessary. Further, if a copy *is*
necessary, the other four instances of this pattern within this file would also
be wrong, and we have no evidence of any problems with them; if this change
unearths problems, we should fix all the instances of this pattern.

First pass at generating weak definitions of inline functions from module files
(& skipping (-O0) or emitting available_externally (optimizations)
definitions where those modules are used).
External functions defined in modules are emitted into the modular
object file as well (this may turn an existing ODR violation (if that
module were imported into multiple translations) into valid/linkable
code).
Internal symbols (static functions, for example) are not correctly
supported yet. The symbol will be produced, internal, in the modular
object - unreferenceable from the users.

template from TSK_ImplicitInstantiation to TSK_Undeclared.
It doesn't make sense for a non-template function to be flagged as being
instantiated from a template; that property really belongs to the entity
as a whole and not an individual declaration of it. There's some history
here:
* r137934 started marking these functions as instantiations in order to
work around an issue where we might instantiate a class template while
we're still parsing its member definitions, and would otherwise fail
to instantiate the friend definition
* r177003 fixed the same issue but for friend templates, but did so by
making the friends claim to be definitions even before we'd parsed
their actual bodies; this made the r137934 change redundant
* r293558 worked around a problem caused by the marking of a non-template
function as a template instantiation in r137934
This change reverts the code changes from r293358 and r137934 and retains
all the tests.

Modify ObjC blocks impl wrt address spaces as follows:
- keep default private address space for blocks generated
as local variables (with captures);
- add global address space for global block literals (no captures);
- make the block invoke function and enqueue_kernel prototype with
the generic AS block pointer parameter to accommodate both
private and global AS cases from above;
- add block handling into default AS because it's implemented as
a special pointer type (BlockPointer) in the frontend and therefore
it is used as a pointer everywhere. This is also needed to accommodate
both private and global AS blocks for the two cases above.
- removes ObjC RT specific symbols (NSConcreteStackBlock and
NSConcreteGlobalBlock) in the OpenCL mode.

This change adds a new type node, DeducedTemplateSpecializationType, to
represent a type template name that has been used as a type. This is modeled
around AutoType, and shares a common base class for representing a deduced
placeholder type.
We allow deduced class template types in a few more places than the standard
does: in conditions and for-range-declarators, and in new-type-ids. This is
consistent with GCC and with discussion on the core reflector. This patch
does not yet support deduced class template types being named in typename
specifiers.

The DSAChecker code in SemaOpenMP looks at the captured statement
associated with an OpenMP directive. A combined directive such as
'target parallel' has nested capture statements, which have to be

Under this defect resolution, the injected-class-name of a class or class
template cannot be used except in very limited circumstances (when declaring a
constructor, in a nested-name-specifier, in a base-specifier, or in an
elaborated-type-specifier). This is apparently done to make parsing easier, but
it's a pain for us since we don't know whether a template-id using the
injected-class-name is valid at the point when we annotate it (we don't yet
know whether the template-id will become part of an elaborated-type-specifier).
As a tentative resolution to a perceived language defect, mem-initializer-ids
are added to the list of exceptions here (they generally follow the same rules
as base-specifiers).
When the reference to the injected-class-name uses the 'typename' or 'template'
keywords, we permit it to be used to name a type or template as an extension;
other compilers also accept some cases in this area. There are also a couple of
corner cases with dependent template names that we do not yet diagnose, but
which will also get this treatment.

The if-clause on the combined directive potentially applies to both the
'target' and the 'parallel' regions. Codegen'ing the if-clause on the
combined directive requires additional support because the expression in
the clause must be captured by the 'target' capture statement but not
the 'parallel' capture statement. Note that this situation arises for
other clauses such as num_threads.
The OMPIfClause class inherits OMPClauseWithPreInit to support capturing
of expressions in the clause. A member CaptureRegion is added to
OMPClauseWithPreInit to indicate which captured statement (in this case
'target' but not 'parallel') captures these expressions.
To ensure correct codegen of captured expressions in the presence of
combined 'target' directives, OMPParallelScope was added to 'parallel'
codegen.

The rules around typechecking deduced template arguments during partial
ordering are not clear, and while the prior behavior does not seem to be
correct (it doesn't follow the general model of partial ordering where each
template parameter is replaced by a non-dependent but unique value), the new
behavior is also not clearly right and breaks some existing idioms.
The new behavior is retained for dealing with non-type template parameters
with 'auto' types, as without it even the most basic uses of that feature
don't work. We can revisit this once CWG has come to an agreement on how
partial ordering with 'auto' non-type template parameters is supposed to
work.

Diasllow a declaration using the 'auto' type specifier from using two different
meanings of it at once, or from declaring multiple functions with deduced
return types or introducing multiple trailing return types.
The standard does not technically disallow the multiple trailing return types
case if all the declarators declare variables (such as function pointers with
trailing return types), but we disallow that too, following the clear intent.

In the case where the template class itself is already `dllexport`, the
implicit instantiation will have already emitted all members. When we
check the explicit instantiation definition, the `Specialization` will
have inherited the `dllexport` attribute, so we'll attempt to emit all
members for a second time, which causes an assertion failure. Restrict
the exporting to when the `dllexport` attribute is newly introduced by
the explicit instantiation definition.

Fixes a crash in modules where the template class decl becomes the most recent
decl in the redeclaration chain and forcing the template instantiator try to

This issue clarifies how deduction proceeds past a non-trailing function
parameter pack. Essentially, the pack itself is skipped and consumes no
arguments (except for those implied by an explicitly-specified template
arguments), and nothing is deduced from it. As a small fix to the standard's
rule, we do not allow subsequent deduction to change the length of the function
parameter pack (by preventing extension of the explicitly-specified pack if
present, and otherwise deducing all contained packs to empty packs).

`diagnose_if` can be used to have clang emit either warnings or errors
for function calls that meet user-specified conditions. For example:

Additionally, add a LambdaExpr visitor to the TemporaryExprEvaluator that forwards constant evaluation of immediately-called-lambda-expressions to the one in RecordExprEvaluator through VisitConstructExpr.

This patch has been sitting in review hell since july 2016 and our lack of constexpr lambda support is getting embarrassing (given that I've had a branch that implements the feature (modulo *this capture) for over a year. While in Issaquah I was enjoying shamelessly trying to convince folks of the lie that this was Richard's fault ;) I won't be able to do so in Kona since I won't be attending - so I'm going to aim to have this feature be implemented by then.
I'm quite confident of the approach in this patch, which simply maps the static-invoker 'thunk' back to the corresponding call-operator (specialization).

This implements something like the current direction of DR1581: we use a narrow
syntactic check to determine the set of places where a constant expression
could be evaluated, and only instantiate a constexpr function or variable if
it's referenced in one of those contexts, or is odr-used.
It's not yet clear whether this is the right set of syntactic locations; we
currently consider all contexts within templates that would result in odr-uses
after instantiation, and contexts within list-initialization (narrowing
conversions take another victim...), as requiring instantiation. We could in
principle restrict the former cases more (only const integral / reference
variable initializers, and contexts in which a constant expression is required,
perhaps). However, this is sufficient to allow us to accept libstdc++ code,
which relies on GCC's behavior (which appears to be somewhat similar to this
approach).

with an invalid declaration could in some cases result in crashes due to
downstream code relying on declaration invariants that are not necessarily

When a parameter pack has multiple corresponding arguments, and some subset of
them are overloaded functions, it's possible that some subset of the parameters
are non-deduced contexts. In such a case, keep deducing from the remainder of

GCC, MSVC, and ICC give three different bad behaviors for this case; what we do

This is correct because (except in the array bound case) the type of the
template argument in each deduction must match the type of the parameter, so at

discarded template argument in the merge, and fail to diagnose the mismatch.
In order to power this, we now properly retain the type of a deduced non-type

failures. msan was failing because we were calling
`isMostDerivedAnUnsizedArray` on an invalid designator, which caused us
to read uninitialized memory. To fix this, the logic of the caller of
said function was simplified, and we now have a `!Invalid` assert in
`isMostDerivedAnUnsizedArray`, so we can catch this particular bug more
easily in the future.
Fingers crossed that this patch sticks this time. :)

This commit fails MSan when running test/CodeGen/object-size.c in
a confusing way. After some discussion with George, it isn't really
clear what is going on here. We can make the MSan failure go away by
testing for the invalid bit, but *why* things are invalid isn't clear.
And yet, other code in the surrounding area is doing precisely this and
testing for invalid.
George is going to take a closer look at this to better understand the
nature of the failure and recommit it, for now backing it out to clean
up MSan builds.

* In C++, never create a FunctionNoProtoType for a builtin (fixes C++1z
crasher from r289754).
* Fix type of __sync_synchronize to be a no-parameter function rather than a
varargs function. This matches GCC.
* Fix type of vfprintf to match its actual type. We gave it a wrong type due
to PR4290 (apparently autoconf generates invalid code and expects compilers
to choke it down or it miscompiles the program; the relevant error in clang
was downgraded to a warning in r122744 to fix other occurrences of this
autoconf brokenness, so we don't need this workaround any more).
* Turn off vararg argument checking for __noop, since it's not *really* a
varargs function. Alternatively we could add custom type checking for it
and synthesize parameter types matching the actual arguments in each call,
but that seemed like overkill.

is valid. For the existing warning from r286521, it's probably the
right decision 95% of the time to put the change outside the macro if

r289225 broke AST invariants by reparenting enumerators into function
decl contexts. This improves things by only reparenting TagDecls while
also attempting to preserve the lexical declcontext chain. The
interesting example here is:

The semantic contexts of E and S should be f, and the lexical context of
S should be f and the lexical context of E should be S. We didn't do
that with r289225, but now we should.
This change should also improve our behavior on this example:

Before r289225 we would only remove 'S' from the surrounding tag
injection context if it was the TU, but now we properly reparent S from

Although not specifically mentioned in the documentation, MSVC accepts
__uuidof(…) and declspec(uuid("…")) attributes on enumeration types in
addition to structs/classes. This is meaningful, as such types *do* have
associated UUIDs in ActiveX typelibs, and such attributes are included
by default in the wrappers generated by their #import construct, so they
are not particularly unusual.
clang currently rejects the declspec with a –Wignored-attributes
warning, and errors on __uuidof() with “cannot call operator __uuidof on
a type with no GUID” (because it rejected the uuid attribute, and
therefore finds no value). This is causing problems for us while trying
to use clang-tidy on a codebase that makes heavy use of ActiveX.
I believe I have found the relevant places to add this functionality,
this patch adds this case to clang’s implementation of these MS
extensions. patch is against r285994 (or actually the git mirror
80464680ce).
Both include an update to test/Parser/MicrosoftExtensions.cpp to
exercise the new functionality.

* ArrayInitLoopExpr is a prvalue of array type with two subexpressions:
a common expression (an OpaqueValueExpr) that represents the up-front
computation of the source of the initialization, and a subexpression
representing a per-element initializer
* ArrayInitIndexExpr is a prvalue of type size_t representing the current
position in the loop
This will be used to replace the creation of explicit index variables in lambda
capture of arrays and copy/move construction of classes with array elements,
and also C++17 structured bindings of arrays by value (which inexplicably allow
copying an array by value, unlike all of C++'s other array declarations).
No uses of these nodes are introduced by this change, however.

Other compilers accept invalid code here that we reject, and we need a
better error message to try to convince users that the code is really
incorrect. Consider:

mirror the description in the standard. Per DR1295, this means that binding a
const / rvalue reference to a bit-field no longer "binds directly", and per
P0135R1, this means that we materialize a temporary in reference binding
after adjusting cv-qualifiers and before performing a derived-to-base cast.
In C++11 onwards, this should have fixed the last case where we would
materialize a temporary of the wrong type (with a subobject adjustment inside
the MaterializeTemporaryExpr instead of outside), but we still have to deal
with that possibility in C++98, unless we want to start using xvalues to
represent materialized temporaries there too.

This saves two pointers from FunctionDecl that were being used for some
rare and questionable C-only functionality. The DeclsInPrototypeScope
ArrayRef was added in r151712 in order to parse this kind of C code:

The challenge is that we parse 'int f(enum {y, x} n)' it its own
function prototype scope that gets popped before we build the
FunctionDecl for 'f'. The original change was doing two questionable
things:
1. Saving all tag decls introduced in prototype scope on a TU-global
Sema variable. This is problematic when you have cases like this, where
'x' and 'y' shouldn't be visible in 'f':

This patch fixes that, so now 'f' can't see 'x', which is consistent
with GCC.
2. Storing the decls in FunctionDecl in ActOnFunctionDeclarator so that
they could be used in ActOnStartOfFunctionDef. This is just an
inefficient way to move information around. The AST lives forever, but
the list of non-parameter decls in prototype scope is short lived.
Moving these things to the Declarator solves both of these issues.

Some functions and templates are treated as __host__ __device__ even
when they don't have explicitly specified target attributes.
What's worse, this treatment may change depending on command line
options (-fno-cuda-host-device-constexpr) or
#pragma clang force_cuda_host_device.
Combined with strict checking for matching function target that comes
with D25809(r288962), it makes it hard to write code which would
explicitly instantiate or specialize some functions regardless of
pragmas or command line options in effect.
This patch changes the way we match target attributes of base template
vs attributes used in explicit instantiation or specialization so that
only explicitly specified attributes are considered. This makes base
template selection behave consistently regardless of pragma of command
line options that may affect CUDA target.

calculation, which checks if key functions are enabled. We won't find
any key functions in C++ ABIs that lack key functions, so -Wweak-vtables

std::max. For unsigned values, zero is the minimum value, so any call to

a note with a fixit hint to remove the zero and call to std::max.

lifetime-extended by binding a reference to the member access. Likewise, in an
array-to-pointer decay, an rvalue array is materialized before being converted
into a pointer.
This caused IR generation to stop treating file-scope array compound literals
as having static storage duration in some cases in C++; that has been rectified
by modeling such a compound literal as an lvalue. This also improves clang's
compatibility with GCC for those cases.

An explicit template specialization can cause the implicit template
specialization of a type which inherits the attributes. In such a case, we
would end up with a delayed template specialization for a dll exported type
which we would fail to reference. This would trigger an assertion.
We now propagate the dll storage attributes through the inheritance
chain. Only after having done so do we reference the delayed template
specializations. This allows any implicit specializations which inherit dll
storage to also be referenced.

Since r274049, for an inheriting constructor declaration, the name of the using
declaration (and using shadow declaration comes from the using declaration) is
the name of a derived class, not the base class (line 8225-8232 of
lib/Sema/SemaDeclCXX.cpp in https://reviews.llvm.org/rL274049). Because of
this, name-based lookup performed inside Sema::LookupConstructors returns not
only CXXConstructorDecls but also Using(Shadow)Decls, which results assertion
failure reported in PR29087.

__unknown_anytype is double:

Summary:
This changes pointers to cached tokens for default arguments in C++ from raw pointers to unique_ptrs. There was a fixme in the code where the cached tokens are created about using a smart pointer.
The change is straightforward, though I did have to track down and fix a memory corruption caused by the change. memcpy was being used to copy parameter information. This duplicated the unique_ptr, which led to the cached token buffer being deleted prematurely.

During template instantiation, we currently fall back to just calling
Sema::SubstExpr for enable_if attributes that aren't value-dependent or
type-dependent. Since Sema::SubstExpr strips off any implicit casts
we've added to an expression, it's possible that this behavior will
leave us with an enable_if condition that's just a DeclRefExpr.
Conditions like that deeply confuse Sema::CheckEnableIf.

Summary:
Add a warning when assigning enums to bitfields without an explicit
unsigned underlying type. This is to prevent problems with MSVC
compatibility, since the Microsoft ABI defaults to storing enums with a
signed type, causing inconsistencies with saving to/reading from
bitfields.
Also disabled the warning in the dr0xx.cpp test which throws the error,
and added a test for the warning.
The warning can be disabled with -Wno-signed-enum-bitfield.

PowerPC's va_list, at least, is a typedef for an array, which means it
decays to a pointer in parameter position. Since the decayed type is
built from the array element type, the typedef sugar is lost.

Platform headers don't always define 'va_list' in terms of Clang's
'__builtin_va_list', so in addition to checking for our own
synthesized decl, also just look for typedefs literally named
'va_list'. Better to err on the side of false negatives here.

This is an addition to (and sub-warning of) -Wnullability-completeness
that warns when an array parameter is missing nullability. When the
specific warning is switched off, the compiler falls back to only
warning on pointer types written as pointer types.
Note that use of nullability /within/ an array triggers the
completeness checks regardless of whether or not the array-specific
warning is enabled; the intent there is simply to determine whether a
particular header is trying to be nullability-aware at all.

Since array parameters decay to pointers, '_Nullable' and friends
should be available for use there as well. This is especially
important for parameters that are typedefs of arrays. The unsugared
syntax for this follows the syntax for 'static'-sized arrays in C:
void test(int values[_Nullable]);
This syntax was previously accepted but the '_Nullable' (and any other
attributes) were silently discarded. However, applying '_Nullable' to
a typedef was previously rejected and is now accepted; therefore, it
may be necessary to test for the presence of this feature:
#if __has_feature(nullability_on_arrays)
One important change here is that DecayedTypes don't always
immediately contain PointerTypes anymore; they may contain an
AttributedType instead. This only affected one place in-tree, so I
would guess it's not likely to cause problems elsewhere.
This commit does not change -Wnullability-completeness just yet. I
want to think about whether it's worth doing something special to
avoid breaking existing clients that compile with -Werror. It also
doesn't change '#pragma clang assume_nonnull' behavior, which
currently treats the following two declarations as equivalent:

This is not the desired behavior, but changing it would break
backwards-compatibility. Most likely the best answer is going to be
adding a new warning.

The ObjC class protocol list assumes there is an associated location for each protocol but no location is provided
when the protocol list comes from a typedef, and we end up with a buffer overflow when trying to get locations for the protocol names.

Previously we'd look at the GVALinkage of whatever FunctionDecl you

This is not right. In the absence of the gnu_inline attribute, to be

The exact same test guards entry into the loop in which this test
occurs, and there is nothing inside the loop that assigns to the
variable, so it has already been checked for null.
This was flagged by PVS-Studio as well, but the report is actually wrong
-- this is not a case where we dereference a variable prior to testing
it for null, this is a case where we have a redundant test for null
after we already performed the exact same test.

Currently when checking p3 Clang will diagnose `static_cast<T&&>(e)` as invalid if the argument is not reference compatible with `T`. However I believe the correct behavior is to also check p4 in those cases. For example:

static_cast<int&&>(y); // this should be OK. 'int&& t(y)' is well formed
```
Note that we still don't check p4 for non-reference-compatible types which are reference-related since `T&& t(e);` should never be well formed in those cases.

Previously the following code would warn on the use of "T":

...because nullability is /allowed/ on template parameters (because
they could be pointers). (Actually putting nullability on this use of
'T' will of course break if the argument is a non-pointer type.)
This fix doesn't handle the case where a template parameter is used
/outside/ of a typedef. That seems trickier, especially in parameter
position.

Certain OpenCL builtin functions are supposed to be executed by all threads in a work group or sub group. Such functions should not be made divergent during transformation. It makes sense to mark them with convergent attribute.

the body of a function for the purposes of computing its storage
duration and deciding whether its initializer must be constant.
There are a number of problems in our current treatment of compound
literals. C specifies that a compound literal yields an l-value
referring to an object with either static or automatic storage
duration, depending on where it was written; in the latter case,
the literal object has a lifetime tied to the enclosing scope (much
like an ObjC block), not the enclosing full-expression. To get these
semantics fully correct in our current design, we would need to
collect compound literals on the ExprWithCleanups, just like we do
with ObjC blocks; we would probably also want to identify literals
like we do with materialized temporaries. But it gets stranger;
GCC adds compound literals to C++ as an extension, but makes them
r-values, which are generally assumed to have temporary storage
duration. Ignoring destructor ordering, the difference only matters
if the object's address escapes the full-expression, which for an
r-value can only happen with reference binding (which extends
temporaries) or array-to-pointer decay (which does not). GCC then
attempts to lock down on array-to-pointer decay in ad hoc ways.
Arguably a far superior language solution for C++ (and perhaps even
array r-values in C, which can occur in other ways) would be to
propagate lifetime extension through array-to-pointer decay, so
that initializing a pointer object to a decayed r-value array
extends the lifetime of the complete object containing the array.
But this would be a major change in semantics which arguably ought
to be blessed by the committee(s).
Anyway, I'm not fixing any of that in this patch; I did try, but
it got out of hand.

__builtin_alloca always uses __BIGGEST_ALIGNMENT__ for the alignment of
the allocation. __builtin_alloca_with_align allows the programmer to
specify the alignment of the allocation.
