Duncan Sands 0b875a0c29 When folding a load from a global constant, if the load started in the middle
of an array element (rather than at the beginning of the element) and extended
into the next element, then the load from the second element was being handled
wrong due to incorrect updating of the notion of which byte to load next. This
fixes PR13442. Thanks to Chris Smowton for reporting the problem, analyzing it
and providing a fix.

Akira Hatanaka 5a69c235ae Eliminate the stack slot used to save the global base register.
The long branch pass (fixed in r160601) no longer uses the global base register
to compute addresses of branch destinations, so it is not necessary to reserve
a slot on the stack.

Kevin Enderby 216ac31971 Fix a bug in the x86 disassembler's symbolic disassembly support for Jcc-Jump
if Condition Is Met instuctions that was not correctly determining the target
instruction.

So for a jne rel32 instruction:

% cat x.s
.byte 0x0f, 0x85, 0x09, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00
% as x.s

it was incorrectly deterining the target:

% otool -q -tv a.out
a.out:
(__TEXT,__text) section
0000000000000000	jne	0xd

and with the fix it gets this correct as:

% otool -q -tv a.out
a.out:
(__TEXT,__text) section
0000000000000000	jne	0xf

Jakob Stoklund Olesen f62c07f147 Split loop exiting edges more aggressively.
PHIElimination splits critical edges when it predicts it can resolve
interference and eliminate copies. It doesn't split the edge if the
interference wouldn't be resolved anyway because the phi-use register is
live in the critical edge anyway.

Teach PHIElimination to split loop exiting edges with interference, even
if it wouldn't resolve the interference. This removes the necessary
copies from the loop, which is still an improvement from injecting the
copies into the loop.

The test case demonstrates the improvement. Before:

  cmpb  $0, (%rdx)

Chandler Carruth 985454e0ac Fix a somewhat nasty crasher in PR13378. This crashes inside of
LiveIntervals due to the two-addr pass generating bogus MI code.

The crux of the issue was a loop nesting problem. The intent of the code
which attempts to transform instructions before converting them to
two-addr form is to defer and reprocess any transformed instructions as
the second processing is likely to have more opportunities to coalesce
copies, etc. Unfortunately, there was one section of processing that was
not deferred -- the INSERT_SUBREG rewriting. Due to quirks of how this
rewriting proceeded, not only did it occur early, it removed the bits of
information needed for the deferred processing to correctly generate the
necessary two address form (specifically inserting a copy), but didn't
trigger any immediate assertions and produced what appeared to be
already valid two-address from code. Thus, the assertion only fired much
later in the pipeline.

The fix is to hoist the transformation logic up layer to where it can
more firmly defer all further processing, and to teach the normal
processing to handle an edge case previously handled as part of the
transformation logic. This edge case (already matched tied register
operands) needs to *not* defer any steps.

As has been brought up repeatedly in the process: wow does this code
need refactoring. I *may* squeeze in some time to at least bring sanity
to this loop... but wow... =]

Thanks to Jakob for helpful hints on the way here, and the review.

Jack Carter a62ba82825 Mips specific inline asm operand modifier 'M':
Print the high order register of a double word register operand.

In 32 bit mode, a 64 bit double word integer will be represented
by 2 32 bit registers. This modifier causes the high order register
to be used in the asm expression. It is useful if you are using
doubles in assembler and continue to control register to variable
relationships.

This patch also fixes a related bug in a previous patch:

    case 'D': // Second part of a double word register operand
    case 'L': // Low order register of a double word register operand
    case 'M': // High order register of a double word register operand

I got 'D' and 'M' confused. The second part of a double word operand
will only match 'M' for one of the endianesses. I had 'L' and 'D'
be the opposite twins when 'L' and 'M' are.

Andrew Trick c08726627c indvars: Linear function test replace should avoid reusing undef.
Fixes PR13371: indvars pass incorrectly substitutes 'undef' values.

I do not like this fix. It's needed until/unless the meaning of undef
changes. It attempts to be complete according to the IR spec, but I
don't have much confidence in the implementation given the difficulty
testing undefined behavior. Worse, this invalidates some of my
hard-fought work on indvars and LSR to optimize pointer induction
variables. It results benchmark regressions, which I'll track
internally. On x86_64 no LTO I see:

-3% huffbench
-3% 400.perlbench
-8% fhourstones

My only suggestion for recovering is to change the meaning of
undef. If we could trust an arbitrary instruction to produce a some
real value that can be manipulated (e.g. incremented) according to
non-undef rules, then this case could be easily handled with SCEV.

TargetLowering::SimplifySetCC would transform

that's immediates which are not a signed 32-bit immediate.

uint32_t hi(uint64_t res)
{
        uint_32t hi = res >> 32;

}

llvm IR looks like this:
define i32 @hi(i64 %res) nounwind uwtable ssp {
entry:
  %lnot = icmp ult i64 %res, 4294967296
  %lnot.ext = zext i1 %lnot to i32
  ret i32 %lnot.ext
}

The optimizer has optimize away the right shift and truncate but the resulting
constant is too large to fit in the 32-bit immediate field. The resulting x86
code is worse as a result:
        movabsq $4294967296, %rax       ## imm = 0x100000000
        cmpq    %rax, %rdi
        sbbl    %eax, %eax
        andl    $1, %eax

This patch teaches the x86 lowering code to handle ult against a large immediate
with trailing zeros. It will issue a right shift and a truncate followed by
a comparison against a shifted immediate.
        shrq    $32, %rdi
        testl   %edi, %edi
        sete    %al
        movzbl  %al, %eax

It also handles a ugt comparison against a large immediate with trailing bits
set. i.e. X >  0x0ffffffff -> (X >> 32) >= 1

Mips shift instructions DSLL, DSRL and DSRA are transformed into
DSLL32, DSRL32 and DSRA32 respectively if the shift amount is between
32 and 63

Here is a description of DSLL:

Purpose: Doubleword Shift Left Logical Plus 32
To execute a left-shift of a doubleword by a fixed amount--32 to 63 bits

Description: GPR[rd] <- GPR[rt] << (sa+32)

The 64-bit doubleword contents of GPR rt are shifted left, inserting
 zeros into the emptied bits; the result is placed in
GPR rd. The bit-shift amount in the range 0 to 31 is specified by sa.

This patch implements the direct object output of these instructions.

Chandler Carruth 8b540ab337 Revert r160254 temporarily.
It turns out that ASan relied on the at-the-end block insertion order to
(purely by happenstance) disable some LLVM optimizations, which in turn
start firing when the ordering is made more "normal". These
optimizations in turn merge many of the instrumentation reporting calls
which breaks the return address based error reporting in ASan.

We're looking at several different options for fixing this.

Alexey Samsonov dcc1291d17 This CL changes the function prologue and epilogue emitted on X86 when stack needs realignment.
It is intended to fix PR11468.

Old prologue and epilogue looked like this:
push %rbp
mov %rsp, %rbp
and $alignment, %rsp
push %r14
push %r15
...
pop %r15
pop %r14
mov %rbp, %rsp
pop %rbp

The problem was to reference the locations of callee-saved registers in exception handling:
locations of callee-saved had to be re-calculated regarding the stack alignment operation. It would
take some effort to implement this in LLVM, as currently MachineLocation can only have the form
"Register + Offset". Funciton prologue and epilogue are now changed to:

push %rbp
mov %rsp, %rbp
push %14
push %15
and $alignment, %rsp
...
lea -$size_of_saved_registers(%rbp), %rsp
pop %r15
pop %r14
pop %rbp

Chandler Carruth db5536f09d Reapply r160194, switching to use LV information for finding local kills.
The notable fix is to look at any dependencies attached to the kill
instruction (or other instructions between MI nad the kill) where the
dependencies are specific to the register in question.

The old code implicitly handled this by rejecting the transform if *any*
other uses were found within the block, but after the start point. The
new code directly finds the kill, and has to re-use the existing
dependency scan to check for non-kill uses.

This was caught by self-host, but I found the bug via inspection and use
of absurd assert scaffolding to compute the kills in two ways and
compare them. So I have no useful testcase for this other than
"bootstrap". I'd work harder to reduce a test case if this particular
code were likely to live for a long time.

When WriteFragmentData() case FT_align called
Asm.getBackend().writeNopData() is called, nothing
is done since Mips implementation of writeNopData just
returned "true".

For some reason this has not caused problems in 32 bit

Jack Carter e8cb2fc616 Mips specific inline asm operand modifier 'L'.
Low order register of a double word register operand. Operands
   are defined by the name of the variable they are marked with in
   the inline assembler code. This is a way to specify that the
   operand just refers to the low order register for that variable.

   It is the opposite of modifier 'D' which specifies the high order
   register.

   Example:

 main()
{

    long long ll_input = 0x1111222233334444LL;
    long long ll_val = 3;
    int i_result = 0;

    __asm__ __volatile__(
		   "or	%0, %L1, %2"
	     : "=r" (i_result)
	     : "r" (ll_input), "r" (ll_val));
}

   Which results in:

   	lui	$2, %hi(_gp_disp)
	addiu	$2, $2, %lo(_gp_disp)
	addiu	$sp, $sp, -8
	addu	$2, $2, $25
	sw	$2, 0($sp)
	lui	$2, 13107
	ori	$3, $2, 17476     <-- Low 32 bits of ll_input
	lui	$2, 4369
	ori	$4, $2, 8738      <-- High 32 bits of ll_input
	addiu	$5, $zero, 3  <-- Low 32 bits of ll_val
	addiu	$2, $zero, 0  <-- High 32 bits of ll_val
	#APP
	or	$3, $4, $5        <-- or i_result, high 32 ll_input, low 32 of ll_val
	#NO_APP
	addiu	$sp, $sp, 8
	jr	$ra

If not direction is done for the long long for 32 bit variables results
in using the low 32 bits as ll_val shows.

There is an existing bug if 'L' or 'D' is used for the destination register
for 32 bit long longs in that the target value will be updated incorrectly
for the non-specified part unless explicitly set within the inline asm code.

Andrew Trick 87255e340e I'm introducing a new machine model to simultaneously allow simple
subtarget CPU descriptions and support new features of
MachineScheduler.

MachineModel has three categories of data:
1) Basic properties for coarse grained instruction cost model.
2) Scheduler Read/Write resources for simple per-opcode and operand cost model (TBD).
3) Instruction itineraties for detailed per-cycle reservation tables.

These will all live side-by-side. Any subtarget can use any
combination of them. Instruction itineraries will not change in the
near term. In the long run, I expect them to only be relevant for
in-order VLIW machines that have complex contraints and require a
precise scheduling/bundling model. Once itineraries are only actively
used by VLIW-ish targets, they could be replaced by something more
appropriate for those targets.

This tablegen backend rewrite sets things up for introducing
MachineModel type #2: per opcode/operand cost model.

Chandler Carruth 264854f9a0 Finish fixing the MachineOperand hashing, providing a nice modern
hash_value overload for MachineOperands. This addresses a FIXME
sufficient for me to remove it, and cleans up the code nicely too.

The important changes to the hashing logic:
- TargetFlags are now included in all of the hashes. These were complete
  missed.
- Register operands have their subregisters and whether they are a def
  included in the hash.
- We now actually hash all of the operand types. Previously, many
  operand types were simply *dropped on the floor*. For example:
  - Floating point immediates
  - Large integer immediates (>64-bit)
  - External globals!
  - Register masks
  - Metadata operands
- It removes the offset from the block-address hash; I'm a bit
  suspicious of this, but isIdenticalTo doesn't consider the offset for
  black addresses.

Any patterns involving these entities could have triggered extreme
slowdowns in MachineCSE or PHIElimination. Let me know if there are PRs
you think might be closed now... I'm looking myself, but I may miss
them.

Chandler Carruth 1d5d23106e The hash function for MI expressions, used by MachineCSE, is really
broken. This patch fixes the superficial problems which lead to the
intractably slow compile times reported in PR13225.

The specific issue is that we were failing to include the *offset* of
a global variable in the hash code. Oops. This would in turn cause all
MIs which were only distinguishable due to operating on different
offsets of a global variable to produce identical hash functions. In
some of the test cases attached to the PR I saw hash table activity
where there were O(1000) probes-per-lookup *on average*. A very few
entries were responsible for most of these probes.

There is still quite a bit more to do here. The ad-hoc layering of data
in MachineOperands makes them *extremely* brittle to hash correctly.
We're missing quite a few other cases, the only ones I've fixed here are
the specific MO types which were allowed through the assert() in
getOffset().

The CopyToReg nodes that set up the argument registers before a call
must be glued to the call instruction. Otherwise, the scheduler may emit

Besides disabling good register allocation, that can also expose
problems when EmitInstrWithCustomInserter() splits a basic block during

Bob Wilson cac3b90633 Extend TargetPassConfig to allow running only a subset of the normal passes.
This is still a work in progress but I believe it is currently good enough
to fix PR13122 "Need unit test driver for codegen IR passes". For example,
you can run llc with -stop-after=loop-reduce to have it dump out the IR after
running LSR. Serializing machine-level IR is not yet supported but we have
some patches in progress for that.

The plan is to serialize the IR to a YAML file, containing separate sections
for the LLVM IR, machine-level IR, and whatever other info is needed. Chad
suggested that we stash the stop-after pass in the YAML file and use that
instead of the start-after option to figure out where to restart the
compilation. I think that's a great idea, but since it's not implemented yet
I put the -start-after option into this patch for testing purposes.

This was always part of the VMCore library out of necessity -- it deals

Andrew Trick 1f50152b2d Make NumMicroOps a variable in the subtarget's instruction itinerary.
The TargetInstrInfo::getNumMicroOps API does not change, but soon it
will be used by MachineScheduler. Now each subtarget can specify the
number of micro-ops per itinerary class. For ARM, this is currently
always dynamic (-1), because it is used for load/store multiple which
depends on the number of register operands.

Zero is now a valid number of micro-ops. This can be used for
nop pseudo-instructions or instructions that the hardware can squash
during dispatch.

Hal Finkel 918ca2b8b7 Precompute SCEV pointer analysis prior to instruction fusion in BBVectorize.
When both a load/store and its address computation are being vectorized, it can
happen that the address-computation vectorization destroys SCEV's ability
to analyize the relative pointer offsets. As a result (like with the aliasing
analysis info), we need to precompute the necessary information prior to
instruction fusing.

This was found during stress testing (running through the test suite with a very
low required chain length); unfortunately, I don't have a small test case.

Hal Finkel f2dcb9a9c4 Allow BBVectorize to form non-2^n-length vectors.
The original algorithm only used recursive pair fusion of equal-length
types. This is now extended to allow pairing of any types that share
the same underlying scalar type. Because we would still generally
prefer the 2^n-length types, those are formed first. Then a second
set of iterations form the non-2^n-length types.

Also, a call to SimplifyInstructionsInBlock has been added after each
pairing iteration. This takes care of DCE (and a few other things)
that make the following iterations execute somewhat faster. For the
same reason, some of the simple shuffle-combination cases are now
handled internally.

There is some additional refactoring work to be done, but I've had
many requests for this feature, so additional refactoring will come
soon in future commits (as will additional test cases).

Jack Carter 8ad0c272af The ELF relocation record format is different for N64
which many Mips 64 ABIs use than for O64 which many
if not all other target ABIs use.

Most architectures have the following 64 bit relocation record format:

  typedef struct
  {
    Elf64_Addr   r_offset; /* Address of reference */
    Elf64_Xword r_info; /* Symbol index and type of relocation */
  } Elf64_Rel;

  typedef struct
  {
    Elf64_Addr    r_offset;
    Elf64_Xword   r_info;
    Elf64_Sxword  r_addend;
  } Elf64_Rela;

Whereas N64 has the following format:

  typedef struct
  {
    Elf64_Addr    r_offset;/* Address of reference */
    Elf64_Word  r_sym;     /* Symbol index */
    Elf64_Byte  r_ssym;    /* Special symbol */
    Elf64_Byte  r_type3;   /* Relocation type */
    Elf64_Byte  r_type2;   /* Relocation type */
    Elf64_Byte  r_type;    /* Relocation type */
  } Elf64_Rel;

  typedef struct
  {
    Elf64_Addr    r_offset;/* Address of reference */
    Elf64_Word  r_sym;     /* Symbol index */
    Elf64_Byte  r_ssym;    /* Special symbol */
    Elf64_Byte  r_type3;   /* Relocation type */
    Elf64_Byte  r_type2;   /* Relocation type */
    Elf64_Byte  r_type;    /* Relocation type */
    Elf64_Sxword  r_addend;
  } Elf64_Rela;

The structure is the same size, but the r_info data element
is now 5 separate elements. Besides the content aspects,
endian byte reordering will be different for the area with
each element being endianized separately.

I treat this as generic and continue to pass r_type as
an integer masking and unmasking the byte sized N64
values for N64 mode. I've implemented this and it causes no
affect on other current targets.

This passes make check.

Duncan Sands 514db117bd Some reassociate optimizations create new instructions, which they insert just
before the expression root. Any existing operators that are changed to use one
of them needs to be moved between it and the expression root, and recursively
for the operators using that one. When I rewrote RewriteExprTree I accidentally
inverted the logic, resulting in the compacting going down from operators to
operands rather than up from operands to the operators using them, oops. Fix

Evan Cheng 319be53a1f Remove a instcombine transform that (no longer?) makes sense:
// C - zext(bool) -> bool ? C - 1 : C
    if (ZExtInst *ZI = dyn_cast<ZExtInst>(Op1))
      if (ZI->getSrcTy()->isIntegerTy(1))
        return SelectInst::Create(ZI->getOperand(0), SubOne(C), C);

This ends up forming sext i1 instructions that codegen to terrible code. e.g.
int blah(_Bool x, _Bool y) {
  return (x - y) + 1;
}
=>
        movzbl  %dil, %eax
        movzbl  %sil, %ecx
        shll    $31, %ecx
        sarl    $31, %ecx
        leal    1(%rax,%rcx), %eax
        ret

Without the rule, llvm now generates:
        movzbl  %sil, %ecx
        movzbl  %dil, %eax
        incl    %eax
        subl    %ecx, %eax
        ret

It also helps with ARM (and pretty much any target that doesn't have a sext i1 :-).

The transformation was done as part of Eli's r75531. He has given the ok to
remove it.

up to r158925 were handled as processor specific. Making them
generic and putting tests for these modifiers in the CodeGen/Generic

This commit addresses that problem by having the targets call
the generic routine for generic modifiers that they don't currently
have explicit code for.

Duncan Sands 8bc764aeca Replacing zero-sized alloca's with a null pointer is too aggressive, instead
merge all zero-sized alloca's into one, fixing c43204g from the Ada ACATS
conformance testsuite. What happened there was that a variable sized object
was being allocated on the stack, "alloca i8, i32 %size". It was then being
passed to another function, which tested that the address was not null (raising
an exception if it was) then manipulated %size bytes in it (load and/or store).
The optimizers cleverly managed to deduce that %size was zero (congratulations
to them, as it isn't at all obvious), which made the alloca zero size, causing
the optimizers to replace it with null, which then caused the check mentioned
above to fail, and the exception to be raised, wrongly. Note that no loads
and stores were actually being done to the alloca (the loop that does them is
executed %size times, i.e. is not executed), only the not-null address check.

Andrew Trick fb2ba3e1cb Enable the new LoopInfo algorithm by default.
The primary advantage is that loop optimizations will be applied in a
stable order. This helps debugging and unit test creation. It is also
a better overall implementation without pathologically bad performance
on deep functions.

On large functions (llvm-stress --size=200000 | opt -loops)
Before: 0.1263s
After:  0.0225s

On deep functions (after tweaking llvm-stress, thanks Nadav):
Before: 0.2281s
After:  0.0227s

See r158790 for more comments.

The loop tree is now consistently generated in forward order, but loop
passes are applied in reverse order over the program. If we have a
loop optimization that prefers forward order, that can easily be
achieved by adding a different type of LoopPassManager.

Verify that all paths from the entry block to a virtual register read
pass through a def. Enable this check even when MRI->isSSA() is false.

Jakob Stoklund Olesen eb49566447 Run ProcessImplicitDefs on SSA form where it can be much simpler.
Implicitly defined virtual registers can simply have the <undef> bit set
on all uses, and copies can be turned into implicit defs recursively.

Physical registers are a bit trickier. We handle the common case where a
physreg def is used by a nearby instruction in the same basic block. For
more complicated cases, just leave the IMPLICIT_DEF instruction in.

rewrite undef:
  %vreg8<def> = INSERT_SUBREG %vreg8<undef>, %vreg0<kill>, sub_16bit

Jakob Stoklund Olesen 321d41a871 Functions calling __builtin_eh_return must have a frame pointer.
The code in X86TargetLowering::LowerEH_RETURN() assumes that a frame
pointer exists, but the frame pointer was forced by the presence of
llvm.eh.unwind.init which isn't guaranteed.

If llvm.eh.unwind.init is actually required in functions calling
eh.return (is it?), we should diagnose that instead of emitting bad
machine code.

This should fix the dragonegg-x86_64-linux-gcc-4.6-test bot.

Lang Hames b8650f106a Rename -allow-excess-fp-precision flag to -fuse-fp-ops, and switch from a
boolean flag to an enum: { Fast, Standard, Strict } (default = Standard).

This option controls the creation by optimizations of fused FP ops that store
intermediate results in higher precision than IEEE allows (E.g. FMAs). The
behavior of this option is intended to match the behaviour specified by a
soon-to-be-introduced frontend flag: '-ffuse-fp-ops'.

Fast mode - allows formation of fused FP ops whenever they're profitable.

Standard mode - allow fusion only for 'blessed' FP ops. At present the only
blessed op is the fmuladd intrinsic. In the future more blessed ops may be
added.

Strict mode - allow fusion only if/when it can be proven that the excess
precision won't effect the result.

Note: This option only controls formation of fused ops by the optimizers. Fused
operations that are explicitly requested (e.g. FMA via the llvm.fma.* intrinsic)
will always be honored, regardless of the value of this option.

Internally TargetOptions::AllowExcessFPPrecision has been replaced by
TargetOptions::AllowFPOpFusion.

Jack Carter b2fd5f66b4 The inline asm operand modifier 'c' is suppose
to be generic across architectures. It has the
following description in the gnu sources:

    Substitute immediate value without immediate syntax

Several Architectures such as x86 have local implementations
of operand modifier 'c' which go beyond the above description
slightly. To make use of the generic modifiers without overriding
local implementation one can make a call to the base class method
for AsmPrinter::PrintAsmOperand() in the locally derived method's
"default" case in the switch statement. That way if it is already
defined locally the generic version will never get called.

Chandler Carruth 5c0997f066 Remove 'static' from inline functions defined in header files.
There is a pretty staggering amount of this in LLVM's header files, this
is not all of the instances I'm afraid. These include all of the
functions that (in my build) are used by a non-static inline (or
external) function. Specifically, these issues were caught by the new
'-Winternal-linkage-in-inline' warning.

I'll try to just clean up the remainder of the clearly redundant "static
inline" cases on functions (not methods!) defined within headers if
I can do so in a reliable way.

There were even several cases of a missing 'inline' altogether, or my
personal favorite "static bool inline". Go figure. ;]

Chandler Carruth c60fbe6b58 Fix two rather subtle internal vs. external linker issues.
I'll admit I'm not entirely satisfied with this change, but it seemed
the cleanest option. Other suggestions quite welcome

The issue is that the traits specializations have static methods which
return the typedef'ed PHI_iterator type. In both the IR and MI layers
this is typedef'ed to a custom iterator class defined in an anonymous
namespace giving the types and the functions returning them internal
linkage. However, because the traits specialization is defined in the
'llvm' namespace (where it has to be, specialized template lives there),
and is in turn used in the templated implementation of the SSAUpdater.
This led to the linkage conflict that Clang now warns about.

The simplest solution to me was just to define the PHI_iterator as
a nested class inside the trait specialization. That way it still
doesn't get scoped widely, it can't be accidentally reused somewhere,
etc. This is a little gross just because nested class definitions are
a little gross, but the alternatives seem more ad-hoc.

Andrew Trick ff2ed7b687 A new algorithm for computing LoopInfo. Temporarily disabled.
-stable-loops enables a new algorithm for generating the Loop
forest. It differs from the original algorithm in a few respects:

- Not determined by use-list order.
- Initially guarantees RPO order of block and subloops.
- Linear in the number of CFG edges.
- Nonrecursive.

I didn't want to change the LoopInfo API yet, so the block lists are
still inclusive. This seems strange to me, and it means that building
LoopInfo is not strictly linear, but it may not be a problem in
practice. At least the block lists start out in RPO order now. In the
future we may add an attribute or wrapper analysis that allows other
passes to assume RPO order.

The primary motivation of this work was not to optimize LoopInfo, but
to allow reproducing performance issues by decomposing the compilation
stages. I'm often unable to do this with the current LoopInfo, because
the loop tree order determines Loop pass order. Serializing the IR
tends to invert the order, which reverses the optimization order. This
makes it nearly impossible to debug interdependent loop optimizations
such as LSR.

I also believe this will provide more stable performance results across time.

Lang Hames 39fb1d08dc Add DAG-combines for aggressive FMA formation.
This patch adds DAG combines to form FMAs from pairs of FADD + FMUL or
FSUB + FMUL. The combines are performed when:
(a) Either
      AllowExcessFPPrecision option (-enable-excess-fp-precision for llc)
        OR
      UnsafeFPMath option (-enable-unsafe-fp-math)

(b) TargetLoweringInfo::isFMAFasterThanMulAndAdd(VT) is true for the type of
    the FADD/FSUB, and
(c) The FMUL only has one user (the FADD/FSUB).

If your target has fast FMA instructions you can make use of these combines by
overriding TargetLoweringInfo::isFMAFasterThanMulAndAdd(VT) to return true for
types supported by your FMA instruction, and adding patterns to match ISD::FMA
to your FMA instructions.

Chandler Carruth 198422a475 Fix PR13148, an inf-loop in StringMap.
StringMap suffered from the same bug as DenseMap: when you explicitly
construct it with a small number of buckets, you can arrange for the
tombstone-based growth path to be followed when the number of buckets
was less than '8'. In that case, even with a full map, it would compare
'0' as not less than '0', and refuse to grow the table, leading to
inf-loops trying to find an empty bucket on the next insertion. The fix
is very simple: use '<=' as the comparison. The same fix was applied to
DenseMap as well during its recent refactoring.

Thanks to Alex Bolz for the great report and test case. =]
