Martin Storsjö 298e9cac92 [MC] [Win64EH] Check that the SEH unwind opcodes match the actual instructions
It's a fairly common issue that the generating code incorrectly marks
instructions as narrow or wide; check that the instruction lengths
add up to the expected value, and error out if it doesn't. This allows
catching code generation bugs.

Also check that prologs and epilogs are properly terminated, to
catch other code generation issues.

Martin Storsjö 6b75a3523f [ARM] [MC] Add support for writing ARM WinEH unwind info
This includes .seh_* directives for generating it from assembly.
It is designed fairly similarly to the ARM64 handling.

For .seh_handler directives, such as
".seh_handler __C_specific_handler, @except" (which is supported
on x86_64 and aarch64 so far), the "@except" bit doesn't work in
ARM assembly, as '@' is used as a comment character (on all current
platforms).

Allow using '%' instead of '@' for this purpose. This convention
is used by GAS in similar contexts already,
e.g. [1]:

    Note on targets where the @ character is the start of a comment
    (eg ARM) then another character is used instead. For example the
    ARM port uses the % character.

In practice, this unfortunately means that all such .seh_handler
directives will need ifdefs for ARM.

Contrary to ARM64, on ARM, it's quite common that we can't evaluate
e.g. the function length at this point, due to instructions whose
length is finalized later. (Also, inline jump tables end with
a ".p2align 1".)

If unable to to evaluate the function length immediately, emit
it as an MCExpr instead. If we'd implement splitting the unwind
info for a function (which isn't implemented for ARM64 yet either),
we wouldn't know whether we need to split it though.

Avoid calling getFrameIndexOffset() on an unset
FuncInfo.UnwindHelpFrameIdx, to avoid triggering asserts in the
preexisting testcase CodeGen/ARM/Windows/wineh-basic.ll. (Once
MSVC exception handling is fully implemented, those changes
can be reverted.)

Maksim Panchenko bed9efed71 [MCDisassembler] Disambiguate Size parameter in tryAddingSymbolicOperand()
MCSymbolizer::tryAddingSymbolicOperand() overloaded the Size parameter
to specify either the instruction size or the operand size depending on
the architecture. However, for proper symbolic disassembly on X86, we
need to know both sizes, as an instruction can have two operands, and
the instruction size cannot be reliably calculated based on the operand
offset and its size. Hence, split Size into OpSize and InstSize.

For X86, the new interface allows to fix a couple of issues:
  * Correctly adjust the value of PC-relative operands.
  * Set operand size to zero when the operand is specified implicitly.

Martin Storsjö 924defada9 [MC] [Win64EH] Don't produce packed ARM64 unwind info with homed parameters
There's an inconsistency regarding the epilogs of packed ARM64
unwind info with homed parameters; according to the documentation
(and according to common sense), the epilog wouldn't have a series
of nop instructions matching the stp x0-x7 in the prolog - however
in practice, RtlVirtualUnwind still seems to behave as if the epilog
does have the mirrored nops from the prolog.

In practice, MSVC doesn't seem to produce packed unwind info with
homed parameters, which might be why this inconsistency hasn't
been noticed.

Thus, to play it safe, avoid creating such packed unwind info with
homed parameters. (LLVM's current behaviour matches the current
runtime behaviour of RtlVirtualUnwind, but if it later is bug fixed
to match the documentation, such unwind information would be
incorrect.)

This allows sharing opcodes between prolog and epilog even when there
is more than one epilog.

I didn't make any handcrafted special MC level testcases for this (yet
at least), but it does seem to have the expected effect on two existing
CodeGen level testcases.

Martin Storsjö cabefea2ec [MC] [Win64EH] Try writing an ARM64 "packed epilog" even if the epilog doesn't share opcodes with the prolog
The "packed epilog" form only implies that the epilog is located
exactly at the end of the function (so the location of the epilog
is implicit from the epilog opcodes), but it doesn't have to share
opcodes with the prolog - as long as the total number of opcode
bytes and the offset to the epilog fit within the bitfields.

This avoids writing a 4 byte epilog scope in many cases. (I haven't
measured how much this shrinks actual xdata sections in practice
though.)

Alan Zhao 8a1b5f2680 [llvm-ml] Add support for extern proc
EXTERN PROC isn't really well documented in MSVC, so after poking around
it seems as if it's just a regular extern symbol.

Interestingly enough, under MSVC the following is allowed:

extern foo:proc

mov eax, foo

MSVC will output:

mov eax, 0

while llvm-ml will currently output:

mov eax, dword ptr [foo]

(since foo is an extern)

Arguably, llvm-ml's output makes more sense, even though it's
inconsistent with MSVC ml. However, since moving an extern proc symbol
to a register doesn't really make sense in the first place, we'll treat
it as undefined behavior for now.

Alex Borcan afaa56df7a Implement support for __llvm_addrsig for MachO in llvm-mc
The __llvm_addrsig section is a section that the linker needs for safe icf.
This was not yet implemented for MachO - this is the implementation.
It has been tested with a safe deduplication implementation inside lld.

David Tenty 8042699a30 [LLVM] Add exported visibility style for XCOFF
For the AIX linker, under default options, global or weak symbols which
have no visibility bits set to zero (i.e. no visibility, similar to ELF
default) are only exported if specified on an export list provided to
the linker. So AIX has an additional visibility style called
"exported" which indicates to the linker that the symbol should
be explicitly globally exported.

This change maps "dllexport" in the LLVM IR to correspond to XCOFF
exported as we feel this best models the intended semantic (discussion
on the discourse RFC thread: https://discourse.llvm.org/t/rfc-adding-exported-visibility-style-to-the-ir-to-model-xcoff-exported-visibility/61853)
and allows us to enable writing this visibility for the AIX target
in the assembly path.

David Tenty f6d209b3ec [AIX][XCOFF] error on emit symbol visibility for XCOFF object file
This is a follow on to the revert of D84265 to add an error if we'd need
to write a non-zero visibility type in the xcoff object file. We can't
currently do that because we lack the auxilary header to interpret the
bits in XCOFF32. This is important because visibility is being enabled
in the assembly writing path, and without this error the visibility
could be silently ignored.

Andrew Savonichev 0a27622a1d [NVPTX] Disable DWARF .file directory for PTX
Default behavior for .file directory was changed in D105856, but
ptxas (CUDA 11.5 release) refuses to parse it:

    $ llc -march=nvptx64 llvm/test/DebugInfo/NVPTX/debug-file-loc.ll
    $ ptxas debug-file-loc.s
    ptxas debug-file-loc.s, line 42; fatal   : Parsing error near
    '"foo.h"': syntax error

Added a new field to MCAsmInfo to control default value of
UseDwarfDirectory. This value is used if -dwarf-directory command line
option is not specified.

Andrew Savonichev 52053aa94f [NVPTX] Disable parens for identifiers starting with '$'
ptxas fails to parse such syntax:

    mov.u64 %rd1, ($str);
    fatal   : Parsing error near '$str': syntax error

A new MCAsmInfo option was added because InParens parameter of
MCExpr::print is not sufficient to disable parens
completely. MCExpr::print resets it to false for a recursive call in
case of unary or binary expressions.

Targets that require parens around identifiers that start with '$'
should always pass MCAsmInfo to MCExpr::print.
Therefore 'operator<<(raw_ostream &, MCExpr&)' should be avoided
because it calls MCExpr::print with nullptr MAI.

Fangrui Song e07dfa5328 [MC][ELF] Improve st_size propagation rule
`.symver foo, foo@ver` creates the MCSymbolELF `foo@ver` whose almost all
attributes (including st_size) should inherit from `foo` (GNU as behavior).

a041ef1bd8 added st_size propagation which works
for many cases but fails for the following one:

```

.size   __GLIBC_2_12_sys_errlist, 1080
.symver __GLIBC_2_12_sys_errlist, sys_errlist@GLIBC_2.12

_sys_errlist_internal:
.size   _sys_errlist_internal, 1072
```

`sys_errlist@GLIBC_2.12`'s st_size is 1072 (incorrect), which does not match
`__GLIBC_2_12_sys_errlist`'s st_size: 1080.

The problem is that `Base` is (the final) `_sys_errlist_internal` while we want
to respect (the intermediate) `__GLIBC_2_12_sys_errlist`'s st_size.
Fix this by following the MCSymbolRefExpr assignment chain and finding
the closest non-null `getSize()`, which covers most needs. Notably MCBinaryExpr
is not handled, but it is rare enough to matter.

Argyrios Kyrtzidis 330268ba34 [Support/Hash functions] Change the `final()` and `result()` of the hashing functions to return an array of bytes
Returning `std::array<uint8_t, N>` is better ergonomics for the hashing functions usage, instead of a `StringRef`:

* When returning `StringRef`, client code is "jumping through hoops" to do string manipulations instead of dealing with fixed array of bytes directly, which is more natural
* Returning `std::array<uint8_t, N>` avoids the need for the hasher classes to keep a field just for the purpose of wrapping it and returning it as a `StringRef`

As part of this patch also:

* Introduce `TruncatedBLAKE3` which is useful for using BLAKE3 as the hasher type for `HashBuilder` with non-default hash sizes.
* Make `MD5Result` inherit from `std::array<uint8_t, 16>` which improves & simplifies its API.

Chris Bieneman 9130e471fe Add DXContainer
DXIL is wrapped in a container format defined by the DirectX 11
specification. Codebases differ in calling this format either DXBC or
DXILContainer.

Since eventually we want to add support for DXBC as a target
architecture and the format is used by DXBC and DXIL, I've termed it
DXContainer here.

Most of the changes in this patch are just adding cases to switch
statements to address warnings.

Fangrui Song 6bdad85b26 [MC] Fix llvm_unreachable when a STB_GNU_UNIQUE symbol needs a relocation
STB_GNU_UNIQUE should be treated in a way similar to STB_GLOBAL.
This fixes an "Invalid Binding" failure in an LLVM_ENABLE_ASSERTIONS=on build
for source files like glibc elf/tst-unique1mod1.c .

This bug has been benign so far because (a) Clang does not produce
%gnu_unique_object by itself (b) a non-assertion build likely picks the
STB_GLOBAL code path anyway.

Hongtao Yu 3f97016857 [llvm-profgen] Decoding pseudo probe for profiled function only.
Complete pseudo probes decoding can result in large memory usage. In practice only a small porting of the decoded probes are used in profile generation. I'm changing the full decoding mode to be decoding for profiled functions only, though we still do a full scan of the .pseudoprobe section due to a missing table-of-content but we don't have to build the in-memory data structure for functions not sampled.

To build the in-memory data structure for profiled functions only, I'm rewriting the previous non-recursive probe decoding logic to be recursive. This is easy to read and maintain.

I also have to change the previous representation of unsymbolized context from probe-based stack to address-based stack since the profiled functions are unknown yet by the time of virtual unwinding. The address-based stack will be converted to probe-based stack after virtual unwinding and on-demand probe decoding.

I'm seeing 20GB memory is saved for one of our internal large service.

Fangrui Song 407c721ceb [Support] Change zlib::compress to return void
With a sufficiently large output buffer, the only failure is Z_MEM_ERROR.
Check it and call the noreturn report_bad_alloc_error if applicable.
resize_for_overwrite may call report_bad_alloc_error as well.

Now that there is no other error type, we can replace the return type with void
and simplify call sites.

Fangrui Song a7ac200fd0 [MC] Remove unneeded zlib opt-out for .debug_frame
The opt-out from rL236267 (2015) is untested and seems no longer needed (or not
needed when rL236267 was committed): there is nothing special with uncompressed
alignment. This brings us in line with GCC which compresses .debug_frame .

Checked that -g -fno-asynchronous-unwind-tables + objcopy
--decompress-debug-sections output is identical to -g
-fno-asynchronous-unwind-tables -gz + objcopy --decompress-debug-sections
output.

Nicolas Miller 85f4023e73 [COFF] Move section name encoding into BinaryFormat
Large COFF section names are moved into the string table and the
section header field is the offset into the string table encoded in
ASCII for offset smaller than 7 digits and in base64 for larger
offsets.

The operation of taking the string table offsets is done in a few
places in the codebase, so it is helpful to move this operation into
`BinaryFormat` so that it can be shared everywhere it's done.

So this patch takes the implementation of this operation from
`llvm/lib/MC/WinCOFFObjectWriter.cpp` and moves it into `BinaryFormat`.

Which is significant and backs up the change in addition to the usual benefits of
decreasing coupling between headers and compilation units.

Wael Yehia addd073325 [AIX][PowerPC][PGO] Generate .ref for some PGO sections
For PGO on AIX, when we switch to the linux-style PGO variable access
(via _start and _stop labels), we need the compiler to generate a .ref
assembly for each of the three csects:

 -   __llvm_prf_data[RW]
 -   __llvm_prf_names[RO]
 -   __llvm_prf_vnds[RW]

We insert the .ref inside the __llvm_prf_cnts[RW] csect so that if it's
live then the 3 csects are live.

For example, for a testcase with at least one function definition, when
compiled with -fprofile-generate we should generate:

        .csect __llvm_prf_cnts[RW],3
        .ref __llvm_prf_data[RW]   <<============ needs to be inserted
        .ref __llvm_prf_names[RO]  <<===========

the __llvm_prf_vnds is not always present, so we reference it only when
it's present.

LLVM Programmer’s Manual strongly discourages the use of `std::vector<bool>` and suggests `llvm::BitVector` as a possible replacement.

Currently, some users of `std::vector<bool>` cannot switch to `llvm::BitVector` because it doesn't implement the `pop_back()` and `back()` functions.

To enable easy transition of `std::vector<bool>` users, this patch implements `llvm::BitVector::pop_back()` and `llvm::BitVector::back()`.

Igor Kudrin 75184f14ae [DebugInfo] Fix handling '# line "file"' for DWARFv5
`CppHashInfo.Filename` is a `StringRef` that references a part of the
source file and it is not null-terminated at the end of the file name.
`AsmParser::parseAndMatchAndEmitTargetInstruction()` passes it to
`getStreamer().emitDwarfFileDirective()`, and it eventually comes to
`isRootFile()`. The comparison fails because `FileName.data()` is not
properly terminated.

In addition, the old code might cause a significant speed degradation
for long source files. The `operator!=()` for `std::string` and
`const char *` can be implemented in a way that it finds the length of
the second argument first, which slows the comparison for long data.
`parseAndMatchAndEmitTargetInstruction()` calls
`emitDwarfFileDirective()` every time if `CppHashInfo.Filename` is not
empty. As a result, the longer the source file is, the slower the
compilation wend, and for a very long file, it might take hours instead
of a couple of seconds normally.

Juergen Ributzka 3025c3eded Replace PlatformKind with PlatformType.
The PlatformKind/PlatformType enums contain the same information, which requires
them to be kept in-sync. This commit changes over to PlatformType as the sole
source of truth, which allows the removal of the redundant PlatformKind.

The majority of the changes were in LLD and TextAPI.

generation to MachO from COFF/ELF. Due to MachO section naming rules, the

Sami Tolvanen 9a74c753fe [ThinLTO][MC] Use conditional assignments for promotion aliases
Inline assembly refererences to static functions with ThinLTO+CFI were
fixed in D104058 by creating aliases for promoted functions. Creating
the aliases unconditionally resulted in an unexpected size increase in
a Chrome helper binary:

This is caused by the compiler being unable to drop unused code now
referenced by the alias in module-level inline assembly. This change
adds a .set_conditional assembly extension, which emits an assignment
only if the target symbol is also emitted, avoiding phantom references
to functions that could have otherwise been dropped.

This is an alternative to the solution proposed in D112761.

Phoebe Wang d7c07f60b3 [X86][MS-InlineAsm] Make the constraint *m to be simple place holder
D113096 solved the "undefined reference to xxx" issue by adding
constraint *m for the global var. But it has strong side effect due to
the symbol in the assembly being replaced with constraint variable.

This patch fix the problem by use the constraint *m as place holder
rather than real constraint. It has negligible effect for the existing
code generation.

Alex Lorenz 0756aa3978 [macho] add support for emitting macho files with two build version load commands
This patch extends LLVM IR to add metadata that can be used to emit macho files with two build version load commands.
It utilizes "darwin.target_variant.triple" and "darwin.target_variant.SDK Version" metadata names for that,
which will be set by a future patch in clang.

MachO uses two build version load commands to represent an object file / binary that is targeting both the macOS target,
and the Mac Catalyst target. At runtime, a dynamic library that supports both targets can be loaded from either a native
macOS or a Mac Catalyst app on a macOS system. We want to add support to this to upstream to LLVM to be able to build
compiler-rt for both targets, to finish the complete support for the Mac Catalyst platform, which is right now targetable
by upstream clang, but the compiler-rt bits aren't supported because of the lack of this multiple build version support.

Tobias Burnus c01c62c76c [MC][ELF] Fix accepting abbreviated form with Type change
Follow up to D92052 and D94072, exposed due to D107707

Many assemblers to permit that only the first .section contains all
the attributes like '.lds_bss,"w",@nobits' and later section only
use the name ('.lds_bss') inheriting those attributes from the first
section.  I turned out that the case that Type changed was missed
when implementing it - and D107707 make it much more likely to hit
that issue. That's fixed by this commit.

Martin Storsjö 06d0d449d8 [COFF] [ARM64] Create symbols with regular intervals for relocations against temporary symbols
For relocations against temporary symbols (that don't persist in
the object file), we normally adjust them to reference the start of
the section.

For adrp relocations, the immediate offset from the referenced
symbol is stored in the opcode as the 21 bit signed immediate; this
means that the symbol referenced must be within +/- 1 MB from the
referenced symbol.

Create label symbols with regular intervals (1 MB intervals). For
relocations against temporary symbols, pick the preceding added
offset symbol and make the relocation against that instead of
against the start of the section.

This should fix the root issue behind
https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52378.

For tagged-globals, we only need to disable relaxation for globals that
we actually tag.  With this patch function pointer relocations, which
we do not instrument, can be relaxed.

This patch also makes tagged-globals work properly with LTO, as
-Wa,-mrelax-relocations=no doesn't work with LTO.

Kyungwoo Lee 6747d44bda [DebugInfo] Fix end_sequence of debug_line in LTO Object
In a LTO build, the `end_sequence` in debug_line table for each compile unit (CU) points the end of text section which merged all CUs. The `end_sequence` needs to point to the end of each CU's range. This bug often causes invalid `debug_line` table in the final `.dSYM` binary for MachO after running `dsymutil` which tries to compensate an out-of-range address of `end_sequence`.
The fix is to sync the line table termination with the range operations that are already maintained in DwarfDebug. When CU or section changes, or nodebug functions appear or module is finished, the prior pending line table is terminated using the last range label. In the MC path where no range is tracked, the old logic is conservatively used to end the line table using the section end symbol.

Ben Langmuir a2639dcbe6 [ORC] Add a utility for adding missing "self" relocations to a Symbol
If a tool wants to introduce new indirections via stubs at link-time in
ORC, it can cause fidelity issues around the address of the function if
some references to the function do not have relocations. This is known
to happen inside the body of the function itself on x86_64 for example,
where a PC-relative address is formed, but without a relocation.

```
_foo:
  leaq -7(%rip), %rax ## form pointer to '_foo' without relocation

_bar:
  leaq (%rip), %rax ##  uses X86_64_RELOC_SIGNED to '_foo'
```

The consequence of introducing a stub for such a function at link time
is that if it forms a pointer to itself without relocation, it will not
have the same value as a pointer from outside the function. If the
function pointer is used as a key, this can cause problems.

This utility provides best-effort support for adding such missing
relocations using MCDisassembler and MCInstrAnalysis to identify the
problematic instructions. Currently it is only implemented for x86_64.

Note: the related issue with call/jump instructions is not handled
here, only forming function pointers.

Yuta Saito 1813fde9cc [WebAssembly] Emit clangast in custom section aligned by 4 bytes
Emit __clangast in custom section instead of named data segment
to find it while iterating sections.
This could be avoided if all data segements (the wasm sense) were
represented as their own sections (in the llvm sense).
This can be resolved by https://github.com/WebAssembly/tool-conventions/issues/138

And the on-disk hashtable in clangast needs to be aligned by 4 bytes,
so add paddings in name length field in custom section header.

The length of clangast section name can be represented in 1 byte
by leb128, and possible maximum pads are 3 bytes, so the section
name length won't be invalid in theory.

Reid Kleckner 89b57061f7 Move TargetRegistry.(h|cpp) from Support to MC
This moves the registry higher in the LLVM library dependency stack.
Every client of the target registry needs to link against MC anyway to
actually use the target, so we might as well move this out of Support.

This allows us to ensure that Support doesn't have includes from MC/*.

Heejin Ahn 3ec1760d91 [WebAssembly] Remove WasmTagType
This removes `WasmTagType`. `WasmTagType` contained an attribute and a
signature index:

```

Currently the attribute field is not used and reserved for future use,
and always 0. And that this class contains `SigIndex` as its property is
a little weird in the place, because the tag type's signature index is
not an inherent property of a tag but rather a reference to another
section that changes after linking. This makes tag handling in the
linker also weird that tag-related methods are taking both `WasmTagType`
and `WasmSignature` even though `WasmTagType` contains a signature
index. This is because the signature index changes in linking so it
doesn't have any info at this point. This instead moves `SigIndex` to
`struct WasmTag` itself, as we did for `struct WasmFunction` in D111104.

In this CL, in lib/MC and lib/Object, this now treats tag types in the
same way as function types. Also in YAML, this removes `struct Tag`,
because now it only contains the tag index. Also tags set `SigIndex` in
`WasmImport` union, as functions do.

I think this makes things simpler and makes tag handling more in line
with function handling. These two shares similar properties in that both
of them have signatures, but they are kind of nominal so having the same
signature doesn't mean they are the same element.

Also a drive-by fix: the reserved 'attirubute' part's encoding changed
from uleb32 to uint8 a while ago. This was fixed in lib/MC and
lib/Object but not in YAML. This doesn't change object files because the
field's value is always 0 and its encoding is the same for the both
encoding.

This is effectively NFC; I didn't mark it as such just because it
changed YAML test results.

Anirudh Prasad fb99424a6f [SystemZ][z/OS] Introduce initial support for GOFF asm parser
- Introduce a skeleton outline for the GOFFAsmParser
- Before instantiating AsmParser/HLASMAsmParser, target specific asm parsers are attempted to be initialized first before proceeding. If it doesn't exist for a particular file type, we report a fatal error.
- This patch allows to properly instantiate the HLASMAsmParser on z/OS, and ensures we can write lit tests and unit tests which will involve the instantiation of asm parsers, without an assert / fatal error.

Anirudh Prasad a9ae2436fc [SystemZ][z/OS] Introduce the GOFFMCAsmInfo Interface for z/OS
- This patch adds in the GOFFMCAsmInfo interfaces for the z/OS target.
- This patch decouples the previously existing SystemZMCAsmInfo interface for the ELF target and the z/OS target.
- This patch also removes a small test in the SystemZAsmLexerTest.cpp. The reason for this is because, the test is set up for the s390x-ibm-linux (SystemZ ELF triple), and the test checks a function which is overridden only for the z/OS target. The reason we can't change the test to use a z/OS triple outright is because there is still missing support which prevents the successful running of a test (assert in AsmParser.cpp due to missing GOFFAsmParser support)

Martin Storsjö ac3edc4c97 [Win64EH] Write .pdata symbol relocations relative to the temporary begin symbol
Previously the relocations pointed at the public user facing,
possibly external symbol.

When the function itself is weak, that symbol may be overridden at
link time, pointing at another strong implementation of the same
function instead. In that case, there's two conflicting pdata entries
pointing at the same address, and the wrong unwind info might end up
used.

Both GCC/binutils and MSVC produce pdata pointing at internal static
symbols. (GCC/binutils point at the .text section just as LLVM does
after this change, MSVC points at special label type symbols with the
type IMAGE_SYM_CLASS_LABEL and names like '$LN4'.)

This fixes unwinding through an overridden "operator new" with a
statically linked C++ library in MinGW mode. (Building libc++ with
-ffunction-sections and linking with --gc-sections might avoid the
issue too.)

This makes the produced object files a little less user friendly
to debug, but with other recent improvements for llvm-readobj, the
unwind info debugging experience should be pretty much the same.

Peter Smith b026ce9c8a [MC] Add Subtarget for MAsmParser call to emitCodeAlignment
The call to emitCodeAlignment was missing a STI which is required
after D45962.

emitCodeAlignment has a default parameter of 0 for MaxBytesToEmit.
Explicitly passing 0 here was interpreted as as nullptr for the STI.
This could possibly be avoided by taking STI as a const reference in
emitCodeAlignment.

Peter Smith e63455d5e0 [MC] Use local MCSubtargetInfo in writeNops
On some architectures such as Arm and X86 the encoding for a nop may
change depending on the subtarget in operation at the time of
encoding. This change replaces the per module MCSubtargetInfo retained
by the targets AsmBackend in favour of passing through the local
MCSubtargetInfo in operation at the time.

On Arm using the architectural NOP instruction can have a performance
benefit on some implementations.

For Arm I've deleted the copy of the AsmBackend's MCSubtargetInfo to
limit the chances of this causing problems in the future. I've not
done this for other targets such as X86 as there is more frequent use
of the MCSubtargetInfo and it looks to be for stable properties that
we would not expect to vary per function.

This change required threading STI through MCNopsFragment and
MCBoundaryAlignFragment.

I've attempted to take into account the in tree experimental backends.

Peter Smith 5e71839f77 [MC] Add MCSubtargetInfo to MCAlignFragment
In preparation for passing the MCSubtargetInfo (STI) through to writeNops
so that it can use the STI in operation at the time, we need to record the
STI in operation when a MCAlignFragment may write nops as padding. The
STI is currently unused, a further patch will pass it through to
writeNops.

There are many places that can create an MCAlignFragment, in most cases
we can find out the STI in operation at the time. In a few places this
isn't possible as we are in initialisation or finalisation, or are
emitting constant pools. When possible I've tried to find the most
appropriate existing fragment to obtain the STI from, when none is
available use the per module STI.

For constant pools we don't actually need to use EmitCodeAlign as the
constant pools are data anyway so falling through into it via an
executable NOP is no better than falling through into data padding.

This is a prerequisite for D45962 which uses the STI to emit the
appropriate NOP for the STI. Which can differ per fragment.

Note that involves an interface change to InitSections. It is now
called initSections and requires a SubtargetInfo as a parameter.

Heejin Ahn 28780e59f6 [WebAssembly] Add Wasm SjLj support
This add support for SjLj using Wasm exception handling instructions:

This does not yet support the mixed use of EH and SjLj within a
function. It will be added in a follow-up CL.

This currently passes all SjLj Emscripten tests for wasm0/1/2/3/s,
except for the below:

- `test_dlfcn_longjmp`: Uses NodeRAWFS
- `test_longjmp_throw`: Mixes EH and SjLj
- `test_exceptions_longjmp1`: Mixes EH and SjLj
- `test_exceptions_longjmp2`: Mixes EH and SjLj
- `test_exceptions_longjmp3`: Mixes EH and SjLj

Hongtao Yu b9db70369b [CSSPGO] Split context string to deduplicate function name used in the context.
Currently context strings contain a lot of duplicated function names and that significantly increase the profile size. This change split the context into a series of {name, offset, discriminator} tuples so function names used in the context can be replaced by the index into the name table and that significantly reduce the size consumed by context.

A follow-up improvement made in the compiler and profiling tools is to avoid reconstructing full context strings which is  time- and memory- consuming. Instead a context vector of `StringRef` is adopted to represent the full context in all scenarios. As a result, the previous prevalent profile map which was implemented as a `StringRef` is now engineered as an unordered map keyed by `SampleContext`. `SampleContext` is reshaped to using an `ArrayRef` to represent a full context for CS profile. For non-CS profile, it falls back to use `StringRef` to represent a contextless function name. Both the `ArrayRef` and `StringRef` objects are underpinned by real array and string objects that are stored in producer buffers. For compiler, they are maintained by the sample reader. For llvm-profgen, they are maintained in `ProfiledBinary` and `ProfileGenerator`. Full context strings can be generated only in those cases of debugging and printing.

When it comes to profile format, nothing has changed to the text format, though internally CS context is implemented as a vector. Extbinary format is only changed for CS profile, with an additional `SecCSNameTable` section which stores all full contexts logically in the form of `vector<int>`, which each element as an offset points to `SecNameTable`. All occurrences of contexts elsewhere are redirected to using the offset of `SecCSNameTable`.

Testing
This is no-diff change in terms of code quality and profile content (for text profile).

For our internal large service (aka ads), the profile generation is cut to half, with a 20x smaller string-based extbinary format generated.

The compile time of ads is dropped by 25%.

Fangrui Song 83dfa0d098 [MC] Change ELFOSABI_NONE to ELFOSABI_GNU for STB_GNU_UNIQUE
Similar to D97976.
On Linux, most GCC installations are configured with
`--enable-gnu-unique-object` and such GCC emits `@gnu_unique_object` assembly.

The feature is highly controversial and disliked by many folks.
(On glibc DF_1_NODELETE is implicitly enabled and makes dlclose a no-op).

In llvm-project STB_GNU_UNIQUE is assembly only. Clang does not use STB_GNU_UNIQUE.

Use ELFOSABI_GNU to match GNU as behavior and avoid collision with other
OSABI binding values.

Simon Atanasyan 990e8025b5 [MC][ELF] Do not error on parsing .debug_* section directive for MIPS
MIPS .debug_* sections should have SHT_MIPS_DWARF section type to
distinguish among sections contain DWARF and ECOFF debug formats, but in
assembly files these sections have SHT_PROGBITS (@progbits) type. Now
assembler shows 'changed section type for ...' error when parsing
`.section .debug_*,"",@progbits` directive for MIPS targets.

The same problem exists for x86-64 target and this patch extends
workaround implemented in D76151. The patch adds one more case
when assembler ignores section types mismatch after `SwitchSection()`
call.

Arthur Eubanks ad25344620 [MC][CodeGen] Emit constant pools earlier
Previously we would emit constant pool entries for ldr inline asm at the
very end of AsmPrinter::doFinalization(). However, if we're emitting
dwarf aranges, that would end all sections with aranges. Then if we have
constant pool entries to be emitted in those same sections, we'd hit an
assert that the section has already been ended.

We want to emit constant pool entries before emitting dwarf aranges.
This patch splits out arm32/64's constant pool entry emission into its
own MCTargetStreamer virtual method.

- This patch consists of the bare basic code needed in order to generate some assembly for the z/OS target.
- Only the .text and the .bss sections are added for now.
- The relevant MCSectionGOFF/Symbol interfaces have been added. This enables us to print out the GOFF machine code sections.
- This patch enables us to add simple lit tests wherever possible, and contribute to the testing coverage for the z/OS target
- Further improvements and additions will be made in future patches.

Derek Schuff ad1f5457d2 [WebAssembly] Generate R_WASM_FUNCTION_OFFSET relocs in debuginfo sections
Debug info sections need R_WASM_FUNCTION_OFFSET_I32 relocs (with FK_Data_4 fixup
kinds) to refer to functions (instead of R_WASM_TABLE_INDEX as is used in data
sections). Usually this is done in a convoluted way, with unnamed temp data
symbols which target the start of the function, in which case
WasmObjectWriter::recordRelocation converts it to use the section symbol
instead. However in some cases the function can actually be undefined; in this
case the dwarf generator uses the function symbol (a named undefined function
symbol) instead. In that case the section-symbol transform doesn't work and we
need to generate the correct reloc type a different way. In this change
WebAssemblyWasmObjectWriter::getRelocType takes the fixup section type into
account to choose the correct reloc type.

Simon Tatham e49985bb60 Remove unused parameter from parseMSInlineAsm.
No implementation uses the `LocCookie` parameter at all. Errors are
reported from inside that function by `llvm::SourceMgr`, and the
instance of that at the clang call site arranges to pass the error
messages back to a `ClangAsmParserCallback`, which is where the clang
SourceLocation for the error is computed.

(This is part of a patch series working towards the ability to make
SourceLocation into a 64-bit type to handle larger translation units.
But this particular change seems beneficial in its own right.)

Wouter van Oortmerssen 9647a6f719 [WebAssembly] Added initial type checker to MC Assembler
This to protect against non-sensical instruction sequences being assembled,
which would either cause asserts/crashes further down, or a Wasm module being output that doesn't validate.

Unlike a validator, this type checker is able to give type-errors as part of the parsing process, which makes the assembler much friendlier to be used by humans writing manual input.

Because the MC system is single pass (instructions aren't even stored in MC format, they are directly output) the type checker has to be single pass as well, which means that from now on .globaltype and .functype decls must come before their use. An extra pass is added to Codegen to collect information for this purpose, since AsmPrinter is normally single pass / streaming as well, and would otherwise generate this information on the fly.

A `-no-type-check` flag was added to llvm-mc (and any other tools that take asm input) that surpresses type errors, as a quick escape hatch for tests that were not intended to be type correct.

This is a first version of the type checker that ignores control flow, i.e. it checks that types are correct along the linear path, but not the branch path. This will still catch most errors. Branch checking could be added in the future.

codebase forward-compatible with C++23 (& a follow-up change I've made

Jonas Paulsson 7aef99351a [MCStreamer] Move emission of attributes section into MCELFStreamer
Enable the emission of a GNU attributes section by reusing the code for
emitting the ARM build attributes section.

The GNU attributes follow the exact same section format as the ARM
BuildAttributes section, so this can be factored out and reused for GNU
attributes generally.

The immediate motivation for this is to emit a GNU attributes section for the
vector ABI on SystemZ (https://reviews.llvm.org/D105067).
