Sebastian Neubauer a022b1ccd8 [AMDGPU] Add amdgpu_gfx calling convention
Add a calling convention called amdgpu_gfx for real function calls
within graphics shaders. For the moment, this uses the same calling
convention as other calls in amdgpu, with registers excluded for return
address, stack pointer and stack buffer descriptor.

Sebastian Neubauer 76313288cd [AMDGPU] Fix ieee mode default value
Previously, the default value for ieee mode was
- on for compute kernels and compute shaders,
- off for all shaders except compute shaders.

This commit changes the default to be
- on for compute kernels,
- off for shaders.

This aligns the default value with the settings that are actually in
use. To my knowledge, all users of shader calling conventions (mesa and
llpc) disable the ieee mode by default.

Steven Perron eed6476a87 Reset PAL metadata when AMDGPU traget stream finishes
If the same stream object is used for multiple compiles, the PAL metadata from eariler compilations will leak into later one. See https://github.com/GPUOpen-Drivers/llpc/issues/882 for how this is happening in LLPC.

No tests were added because multiple compiles will have to happen using the same pass manager, and I do not see a setup for that on the LLVM side. Let me know if there is a good way to test this.

Dmitry Preobrazhensky 6b8948922c [AMDGPU][MC] Added support of SP3 syntax for MTBUF format modifier
Currently supported LLVM MTBUF syntax is shown below. It is not compatible with SP3.

op dst, addr, rsrc, FORMAT, soffset

This change adds support for SP3 syntax:

op dst, addr, rsrc, soffset SP3FORMAT

In addition to being compatible with SP3, this syntax allows using symbolic names for data, numeric and unified formats. Below is a list of added syntax variants.

format:<expression>
format:[<numeric-format-name>,<data-format-name>]
format:[<data-format-name>,<numeric-format-name>]
format:[<data-format-name>]
format:[<numeric-format-name>]
format:[<unified-format-name>]

The last syntax variant is supported for GFX10 only.

Matt Arsenault 5f5f566b26 AMDGPU: Don't use 16-bit FP inline constants in integer operands
It seems to be a hardware defect that the half inline constants do not
work as expected for the 16-bit integer operations (the inverse does
work correctly). Experimentation seems to show these are really
reading the 32-bit inline constants, which can be observed by writing
inline asm using op_sel to see what's in the high half of the
constant. Theoretically we could fold the high halves of the 32-bit
constants using op_sel.

The *_asm_all.s MC tests are broken, and I don't know where the script
to autogenerate these are. I started manually fixing it, but there's
just too many cases to fix. This also does break the
assembler/disassembler support for these values, and I'm not sure what
to do about it. These are still valid encodings, so it seems like you
should be able to use them in some way. If you wrote assembly using
them, you could have really meant it (perhaps to read the high bits
with op_sel?). The disassembler will print the invalid literal
constant which will fail to re-assemble. The behavior is also
different depending on the use context. Consider this example, which
was previously accepted and encoded using the inline constant:

  v_mad_i16 v5, v1, -4.0, v3
  ; encoding: [0x05,0x00,0xec,0xd1,0x01,0xef,0x0d,0x04]

In contexts where an inline immediate is required (such as on gfx8/9),
this will now be rejected. For gfx10, this will produce the literal
encoding and change the printed format:
  v_mad_i16 v5, v1, 0xc400, v3
  ; encoding: [0x05,0x00,0x5e,0xd7,0x01,0xff,0x0d,0x04,0x00,0xc4,0x00,0x00]

This is just another variation of the issue that we don't perfectly
handle round trip assembly/disassembly due to not tracking how
immediates were encoded. This doesn't matter much in practice, since
compilers don't emit the suboptimal encoding. I doubt any users are
relying on this behavior (although I did make use of the old behavior
to figure out what was wrong).

Fixes bug 46302.

Tom Stellard ab411801b8 [cmake] Explicitly mark libraries defined in lib/ as "Component Libraries"
Summary:
Most libraries are defined in the lib/ directory but there are also a
few libraries defined in tools/ e.g. libLLVM, libLTO. I'm defining
"Component Libraries" as libraries defined in lib/ that may be included in
libLLVM.so. Explicitly marking the libraries in lib/ as component
libraries allows us to remove some fragile checks that attempt to
differentiate between lib/ libraries and tools/ libraires:

1. In tools/llvm-shlib, because
llvm_map_components_to_libnames(LIB_NAMES "all") returned a list of
all libraries defined in the whole project, there was custom code
needed to filter out libraries defined in tools/, none of which should
be included in libLLVM.so. This code assumed that any library
defined as static was from lib/ and everything else should be
excluded.

With this change, llvm_map_components_to_libnames(LIB_NAMES, "all")
only returns libraries that have been added to the LLVM_COMPONENT_LIBS
global cmake property, so this custom filtering logic can be removed.
Doing this also fixes the build with BUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON
and LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON.

2. There was some code in llvm_add_library that assumed that
libraries defined in lib/ would not have LLVM_LINK_COMPONENTS or
ARG_LINK_COMPONENTS set. This is only true because libraries
defined lib lib/ use LLVMBuild.txt and don't set these values.
This code has been fixed now to check if the library has been
explicitly marked as a component library, which should now make it
easier to remove LLVMBuild at some point in the future.

I have tested this patch on Windows, MacOS and Linux with release builds
and the following combinations of CMake options:

- "" (No options)
- -DLLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON
- -DLLVM_LINK_LLVM_DYLIB=ON
- -DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON
- -DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON -DLLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON

a new amdgpu-dx10-clamp attribute to override this if desired.

Also introduce a new amdgpu-ieee attribute to match.

The values need to match to allow inlining. I think it is OK for the
caller's dx10-clamp attribute to override the callee, but there
doesn't appear to be the infrastructure to do this currently without
definining the attribute in the generic Attributes.td.

Eventually the calling convention lowering will need to insert a mode

David Stuttard f77079f892 [AMDGPU] Add support for TFE/LWE in image intrinsics. 2nd try
TFE and LWE support requires extra result registers that are written in the
event of a failure in order to detect that failure case.
The specific use-case that initiated these changes is sparse texture support.

This means that if image intrinsics are used with either option turned on, the
programmer must ensure that the return type can contain all of the expected
results. This can result in redundant registers since the vector size must be a
power-of-2.

This change takes roughly 6 parts:
1. Modify the instruction defs in tablegen to add new instruction variants that
can accomodate the extra return values.
2. Updates to lowerImage in SIISelLowering.cpp to accomodate setting TFE or LWE
(where the bulk of the work for these instruction types is now done)
3. Extra verification code to catch cases where intrinsics have been used but
insufficient return registers are used.
4. Modification to the adjustWritemask optimisation to account for TFE/LWE being
enabled (requires extra registers to be maintained for error return value).
5. An extra pass to zero initialize the error value return - this is because if
the error does not occur, the register is not written and thus must be zeroed
before use. Also added a new (on by default) option to ensure ALL return values
are zero-initialized that is required for sparse texture support.
6. Disable the inst_combine optimization in the presence of tfe/lwe (later TODO
for this to re-enable and handle correctly).

There's an additional fix now to avoid a dmask=0

For an image intrinsic with tfe where all result channels except tfe
were unused, I was getting an image instruction with dmask=0 and only a
single vgpr result for tfe. That is incorrect because the hardware
assumes there is at least one vgpr result, plus the one for tfe.

Fixed by forcing dmask to 1, which gives the desired two vgpr result
with tfe in the second one.

The TFE or LWE result is returned from the intrinsics using an aggregate
type. Look in the test code provided to see how this works, but in essence IR
code to invoke the intrinsic looks as follows:

%v = call {<4 x float>,i32} @llvm.amdgcn.image.load.1d.v4f32i32.i32(i32 15,
                                      i32 %s, <8 x i32> %rsrc, i32 1, i32 0)
%v.vec = extractvalue {<4 x float>, i32} %v, 0
%v.err = extractvalue {<4 x float>, i32} %v, 1

This re-submit of the change also includes a slight modification in
SIISelLowering.cpp to work-around a compiler bug for the powerpc_le
platform that caused a buildbot failure on a previous submission.

Moving SMRD to VMEM in SIFixSGPRCopies is rather bad for performance if

If an offset happens to end up in a VGPR -- either because a floating

There is some unrelated churn in tests since we now select MUBUF offsets

Nicolai Haehnle 1a94cbb3f5 AMDGPU/InsertWaitcnts: Untangle some semi-global state
Summary:
Reduce the statefulness of the algorithm in two ways:

1. More clearly split generateWaitcntInstBefore into two phases: the
first one which determines the required wait, if any, without changing
the ScoreBrackets, and the second one which actually inserts the wait
   and updates the brackets.

2. Communicate pre-existing s_waitcnt instructions using an argument to
generateWaitcntInstBefore instead of through the ScoreBrackets.

To simplify these changes, a Waitcnt structure is introduced which carries
the counts of an s_waitcnt instruction in decoded form.

There are some functional changes:

1. The FIXME for the VCCZ bug workaround was implemented: we only wait for
SMEM instructions as required instead of waiting on all counters.

2. We now properly track pre-existing waitcnt's in all cases, which leads
to less conservative waitcnts being emitted in some cases.

     s_load_dword ...
     s_waitcnt lgkmcnt(0) <-- pre-existing wait count
     ds_read_b32 v0, ...
     ds_read_b32 v1, ...
     s_waitcnt lgkmcnt(0) <-- this is too conservative
     use(v0)
     more code
     use(v1)

This increases code size a bit, but the reduced latency should still be a
win in basically all cases. The worst code size regressions in my shader-db
   are:

Nicolai Haehnle 814abb59df AMDGPU: Rewrite SILowerI1Copies to always stay on SALU
Summary:
Instead of writing boolean values temporarily into 32-bit VGPRs
if they are involved in PHIs or are observed from outside a loop,
we use bitwise masking operations to combine lane masks in a way
that is consistent with wave control flow.

Move SIFixSGPRCopies to before this pass, since that pass
incorrectly attempts to move SGPR phis to VGPRs.

This should recover most of the code quality that was lost with
the bug fix in "AMDGPU: Remove PHI loop condition optimization".

There are still some relevant cases where code quality could be
improved, in particular:

- We often introduce redundant masks with EXEC. Ideally, we'd
have a generic computeKnownBits-like analysis to determine
whether masks are already masked by EXEC, so we can avoid this
masking both here and when lowering uniform control flow.

- The criterion we use to determine whether a def is observed
from outside a loop is conservative: it doesn't check whether
  (loop) branch conditions are uniform.

If an offset happens to end up in a VGPR -- either because a floating
point calculation was involved, or due to other remaining deficiencies
in SIFixSGPRCopies -- we use v_readfirstlane.

There is some unrelated churn in tests since we now select MUBUF offsets
in a unified way with non-scalar buffer loads.

with the following changes from the llvm.amdgcn.buffer.*
intrinsics:

* there are separate raw and struct versions: raw does not have an
index arg and sets idxen=0 in the instruction, and struct always sets
idxen=1 in the instruction even if the index is 0, to allow for the
fact that gfx9 does bounds checking differently depending on whether
  idxen is set;

* there is a combined cachepolicy arg (glc+slc)

* there are now only two offset args: one for the offset that is
included in bounds checking and swizzling, to be split between the
instruction's voffset and immoffset fields, and one for the offset
that is excluded from bounds checking and swizzling, to go into the
  instruction's soffset field.

The AMDISD::BUFFER_* SD nodes always have an index operand, all three
offset operands, combined cachepolicy operand, and an extra idxen
operand.

The obsolescent llvm.amdgcn.buffer.* intrinsics continue to work.

Summary:
We now have two sets of generated TableGen files, one for R600 and one

since each sub-target now only has to consider information that
is specific to itself. This will also help prevent the R600
sub-target from slowing down new features for GCN, like disassembler
support, GlobalISel, etc.

Nicolai Haehnle 7a9c03f484 AMDGPU: Select MIMG instructions manually in SITargetLowering
Summary:
Having TableGen patterns for image intrinsics is hitting limitations:
for D16 we already have to manually pre-lower the packing of data
values, and we will have to do the same for A16 eventually.

Since there is already some custom C++ code anyway, it is arguably easier
to just do everything in C++, now that we can use the beefed-up generic
tables backend of TableGen to provide all the required metadata and map
intrinsics to corresponding opcodes. With this approach, all image
intrinsic lowering happens in SITargetLowering::lowerImage. That code is
dense due to all the cases that it handles, but it should still be easier
to follow than what we had before, by virtue of it all being done in a
single location, and by virtue of not relying on the TableGen pattern
magic that very few people really understand.

This means that we will have MachineSDNodes with MIMG instructions
during DAG combining, but that seems alright: previously we had
intrinsic nodes instead, but those are similarly opaque to the generic
CodeGen infrastructure, and the final pattern matching just did a 1:1
translation to machine instructions anyway. If anything, the fact that
we now merge the address words into a vector before DAG combine should
be an advantage.

Nicolai Haehnle f267431901 AMDGPU: Turn D16 for MIMG instructions into a regular operand
Summary:
This allows us to reduce the number of different machine instruction
opcodes, which reduces the table sizes and helps flatten the TableGen
multiclass hierarchies.

We can do this because for each hardware MIMG opcode, we have a full set
of IMAGE_xxx_Vn_Vm machine instructions for all required sizes of vdata
and vaddr registers. Instead of having separate D16 machine instructions,
a packed D16 instructions loading e.g. 4 components can simply use the
same V2 opcode variant that non-D16 instructions use.

We still require a TSFlag for D16 buffer instructions, because the
D16-ness of buffer instructions is part of the opcode. Renaming the flag
should help avoid future confusion.

The one non-obvious code change is that for gather4 instructions, the
disassembler can no longer automatically decide whether to use a V2 or
a V4 variant. The existing logic which choose the correct variant for
other MIMG instruction is extended to cover gather4 as well.

As a bonus, some of the assembler error messages are now more helpful
(e.g., complaining about a wrong data size instead of a non-existing
instruction).

While we're at it, delete a whole bunch of dead legacy TableGen code.

When an i1-value is defined inside of a loop and used outside of it, we

There are also useful and correct cases of an i1-value being copied between

inside it. The concept of dominators is not sufficient to capture what is
going on, so I propose the notion of "lane-dominators".

Matt Arsenault 8728c5f2db AMDGPU: Cleanup subtarget features
Try to avoid mutually exclusive features. Don't use
a real default GPU, and use a fake "generic". The goal
is to make it easier to see which set of features are
incompatible between feature strings.

Most of the test changes are due to random scheduling changes
from not having a default fullspeed model.

Zachary Turner 264b5d9e88 Move Object format code to lib/BinaryFormat.
This creates a new library called BinaryFormat that has all of
the headers from llvm/Support containing structure and layout
definitions for various types of binary formats like dwarf, coff,
elf, etc as well as the code for identifying a file from its
magic.

Chandler Carruth 6bda14b313 Sort the remaining #include lines in include/... and lib/....
I did this a long time ago with a janky python script, but now
clang-format has built-in support for this. I fed clang-format every
line with a #include and let it re-sort things according to the precise
LLVM rules for include ordering baked into clang-format these days.

I've reverted a number of files where the results of sorting includes
isn't healthy. Either places where we have legacy code relying on
particular include ordering (where possible, I'll fix these separately)
or where we have particular formatting around #include lines that
I didn't want to disturb in this patch.

This patch is *entirely* mechanical. If you get merge conflicts or
anything, just ignore the changes in this patch and run clang-format
over your #include lines in the files.

Sorry for any noise here, but it is important to keep these things
stable. I was seeing an increasing number of patches with irrelevant
re-ordering of #include lines because clang-format was used. This patch
at least isolates that churn, makes it easy to skip when resolving
conflicts, and gets us to a clean baseline (again).

Marek Olsak 8973a0a22c Revert "AMDGPU: Fold CI-specific complex SMRD patterns into existing complex patterns"
This reverts commit e065977c4b5f68ab845400b256f6a3822b1325fa.

It doesn't work. S_LOAD_DWORD_IMM_ci and friends aren't selected by any of
the patterns, so it was putting 32-bit literals into the 8-bit field.
