Olly Betts 7ba0652677 Create director_common.swg for language-indep code
Move -DSWIG_DIRECTOR_STATIC handling there, so this is now supported for
all languages with director support, not just Python and PHP.

Vadim Zeitlin 300ccce46c Another merge with master.
Change Doxygen error codes to start at 740 instead of at 720 as the latter was
taken by Scilab in the meanwhile.

Resolve conflicts in autodoc_runme.py once again.

William S Fulton 2e01533b23 Partial support for %constant and structs
Test case is slightly modified from the test case in issue #250

Use of constant objects does not seem to work in Python - the type is
SwigPyObject instead of constant_directive.Type1.

Vadim Zeitlin 8c76270619 Refactor: move makeParameterName() to common Language base class.
This method was duplicated more or less identically for 4 languages and will
be needed for another one soon, so put it in the base class from which it can
be simply reused instead.

No changes in the program behaviour whatsoever.

Vadim Zeitlin f684242467 Replace DoxygenTranslator debug parameters with a single flags one.
This makes the code more readable and more extensible as more flags are easier
to add in the future than more boolean parameters.

Vadim Zeitlin 4f032332c9 Work around apparent clang bug.
Clang seems to be confused by "tm" being the name both of a local variable and
a struct tm from the standard <time.h> header, included indirectly in the
doxygen branch from java.cxx via "swig.h" and <stdlin.h>.

Just removing the unnecessary cast helps to clear the confusion.

Vadim Zeitlin 984d5fa299 Initialize doxygenTranslator pointer to NULL when it is unused.
No real changes, but avoid having pointer with junk contents, even if it's
unused.

This also avoid the need for checking whether it's used before deleting it.

William S Fulton dc8428889e Ignored enum fixes.
C#/Java - Enums which have been ignored via %ignore and are subsequently
used are handled slightly differently. Type wrapper classes are now generated
which are effectively a wrapper of an empty enum. Previously in Java uncompilable
code was generated and in C# an int was used.

William S Fulton cd2085aae7 Fixes for C enums used in an API and the definition of the enum has not been parsed.
For D, this fixes a segfault in SWIG.

Java, C#, D, Go now produce code that compiles, although the definition of the
enum is needed in order to use the enum properly from the target language.

  merge fix
nested C struct first immediate declaration incorrectly renamed sample fixed
tests updated to reflect nested classes support
  Java nested classes support (1)
flattening should remove the link to the outer class
access mode correctly set/restored for nested classes
nested templates should be skipped while flattening (template nodes themselves, not expanded versions) also non-public nested classes should be ignored
If nested classes are not supported, default behaviour is flattening, not ignoring flag "nested" is preserved, so, the nested classes can be ignored by user
  nested workaround test updated
template instantiated within a class is marked as nested for ignoring purposes
%ignore not applied to the nested classed, because "nested" flag is set too late

William S Fulton e717ed3056 Improve directorthrows patch
Separate $packagepath substitution from non-director code (as
documented). Some of the directorthrows code has been rewritten
so that fewer code changes are present compared to before the patch.

canonicalizeJNIDescriptor() refactored so it can be used for general
code, not just the directorin:descriptor typemap attribute.

Better implementation for substituting '$packagepath/$javaclassname' -
fixes some quirks in '$packagepath/$javaclassname' descriptor substitutions
if a dot was present in the descriptor string.

Haoyu Bai 6d2aef67d9 Replaced all [const] String_or_char * to const_String_or_char_ptr, by the following command:
sed -i "s/\(const \)\?String_or_char \*/const_String_or_char_ptr /g" CParse/* Include/* Modules/* Preprocessor/* Swig/*

This is a preparation for moving to new DOH, since for strong typed objects we need the const_String_or_char_ptr class to implicit convert to and from String * or const char *.

Jamie Kirkpatrick 01695a3128 Major refactoring: translation now takes a node and returns a translated comment if there is one.
This is to allow for situations where you need to use several nodes to create a comment, for example where there are multiple overloads for the same function but the target language doesnt support overloading: in this case we want to combine comments to explain the possible overloads.

[Python] Commit patch #2089149: Director exception handling mangles
returned exception. Exceptions raised by Python code in directors
are now passed through to the caller without change. Also, remove
the ": " prefix which used to be added to other director exceptions
(eg, those due to incorrect return types).
