William S Fulton f0d1d772fa - explicitcall feature removed. 
- Instead of using the swig_up flag in each director method (Python, Ruby, Ocaml) to indicate
whether the explicit C++ call to the appropriate base class method or a normal
polymorphic C++ call should be made, the new approach makes one of these calls
directly from the wrapper method.
- Java/C# recursive director method calls fixed (no need for explicitcall feature to solve this now)

Charlie Savage 924a56a1aa Added support for Ruby bang methods. Bang methods end in exclamation points and indicate that the object being worked on will be modified in-place as opposed to being copied.

Charlie Savage ee63d5276c Updated Ruby Exception handling. Classes that are specified in throws clauses, or are marked as %exceptionclass, are now inherited from rb_eRuntimeError. This allows instances of these classes to be returned to Ruby as exceptions. Thus if a C++ method throws an instance of MyException, the calling Ruby method will get back a MyException object. To see an example, look at ruby/examples/exception_class.

Charlie Savage 8c2edd7aa0 SWIG_RubyAddTracking and SWIG_RubyRemoveTracking were not being correctly generated since they were looking for featue:trackobjects on the constructor/destructor nodes as opposed to the class node.

Charlie Savage 6c8dd53ee8 Reimplementation of tracking objects in Ruby. Instead of passing the $track flag to 
the methods SWIG_Ruby_ConvertPtrAndOwn and SWIG_Ruby_NewPointerObj,
now tracking information is held on swig_class.  This change reduces
significantly reduces the amount of code needed in ruby.cxx, is more robust, and is
more cohesive.

All type sharing happens through a global variable in the target language.

Marcelo Matus f7e02f46fc fixed the problem with 'using' and protected mebers. now it seems to be safe to generate the protected members as protected again. all the test are running and the director_protected_runme.rb now test for the right access control

Logan Johnson 1d86fe950b Fixed RUBY::create_command() so that we never define an instance method 
by calling rb_define_protected_method(), even if the corresponding C++
member function is declared protected. The "protected" access modifier
has different interpretations in C++ and Ruby, and this was causing the
using_protected runtime test for Ruby to break.

- Compliance with ISO/IEC 14882:1998(E) 17.4.3.1.2 -> eg double underscores removed
- Potential member variable and method name clashes remove by preceding with 'swig'
- consistent use of C++ booleans for the swig_disown flag across and within the modules that use this it in director code.
