This adds a --filter option to llvm-symbolizer. This takes log-bearing
symbolizer markup from stdin and writes a human-readable version to
stdout.
For now, this only implements the "symbol" markup tag; all others are
passed through unaltered. This is a proof-of-concept bit of
functionalty; implement the various tags is more-or-less just a matter
of hooking up various parts of the Symbolize library to the architecture
established here.

Currently, llvm-symbolizer doesn't like to parse .debug_info in order to
show the line info for global variables. addr2line does this. In the
future, I'm looking to migrate AddressSanitizer off of internal metadata
over to using debuginfo, and this is predicated on being able to get the
line info for global variables.
This patch adds the requisite support for getting the line info from the
.debug_info section for symbolizing global variables. This only happens
when you ask for a global variable to be symbolized as data.

llvm-profgen gives error message when the input binary contains premature terminator in .debug_aranges section. These zero length items point to some rodata with zero size type in embed Rust Library. Considering Zero-Sized Types are a valid feature in Rust. They are not real error. This change makes the "error:" message into a warning to avoid misleading.
Why do we still want a warning on such case? because it doesn't follow dwarf standard. https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46805 contains early discussion.

This change adds a pair of flags controlling whether llvm-symbolizer
attempts debuginfod lookups. Lookups are attempted if --debuginfod is

The default behavior is made more nuanced: debuginfod lookups are now
only attempted if an HTTP client is compiled in and at least one backing
debuginfod URL was configured via environment variable. Previously,
debuginfod lookups would always be attempted, even if there were no

Our internal build bot hit a failure in llvm/test/tools/llvm-symbolizer/pdb/missing_pdb.test
because the test was checking for an error message that is emitted when a pdb file is
missing. But when the drive is mapped to a removalable drive (such as a DVD drive) in
Windows, you get a different error message which causes the test to fail.
This fixes the test by changing the drive the missing pdb is expected to be on to C:\
instead of D:\ as that is the drive historically used to install Windows and thus
if present should be a hard drive.

In the current state, if getFromHash(0) is called and there's no CU with
dwo_id=0, the lookup will stop at an empty slot, then the check
`Rows[H].getSignature() != S` won't cause the lookup to fail and return
a nullptr (as it should), because the empty slot has a 0 in the
signature field, and a pointer to the empty slot will be incorrectly
returned.
This patch fixes this by using the index field in the hash entry to
check for empty slots: signature = 0 can match a valid hash but
according to the spec the index for an occupied slot will always be
non-zero.

Seems users have enough different uses of the symbolizer where they
might have unknown binaries and offsets such that "best effort" behavior
is all that's expected of llvm-symbolizer - so even erroring on unknown

This reverts commit 1de0199748.
This reverts commit a7b209a6d4.
This reverts commit 338dd138ea.
In a7b209a6d4, llvm-symbolizer was adjusted to return a failure status
code when it produced an error, to flag up DWARF parsing problems. The
test for missing PDB file is analogous, and returns a failure status now
too.
This should fix the llvm-clang-win-x-armv7l buildbot croaking:
http://lab.llvm.org:8011/#/builders/60/builds/77
(this doesn't cover all cases - libDebugInfoDWARF has a default error
handler that prints errors without any exit code handling - I'll be
following up with a patch for that after this)
When concatenating directory with filename in getFilenameByIndex, we
might end up with a path that contains extra dots. For example, if the
input is /path and ./example, we would return /path/./example. Run
sys::path::remove_dots on the output to eliminate unnecessary dots.
